Thanks for getting the episode up quickly

Im the same!! I hope they go all in on the new pokemon and I'm so excited to meet them. For the first time since gen 1,2, and 3. LFG

Ok this is interesting on the serialized convo. I think i see both of you. For Oliver its like the story of why its rare is the main reason rare cards are interesting. For Shug, I think even just the fact that something feels rare or less obtainable causes wonderment. Like I originally sided w Oliver on not caring and not liking how rare the RGB mews are. But now I do kind of feel drawn to them. Like if it happens for me that would be cool. But then again I feel like history and context is seeping into the RGB mew too. A special artists take, it being unique in the hobby, etc. I personally don't think k serialization sounds that enticing to me. I like the original sketch idea better 👍

How about this idea for the wind and waves era. Every expansion set comes with a qr code in the pack so that the community can vote which of the common Pokemon featuring cards is their favourite and when the next set releases the card with the most votes becomes the “what’s your favourite pokemon” stamped promo. It will encourage more packs to be opened rather than sealed and it means the community gets to play a huge role in the tcg too. It’ll be cool if the pokemon website keeps a live count and we have actual numbers to see at the end. It’ll make for a cool bit of history for the wind and waves era in the future.

Letsss gooooo!

It would be cool if Pokémon got into auto cards, signed by the artist and maybe even serialized, though I'd imagine they are saving those in their back pocket for a rainy day / down market.

Looking forward to next week's haiku

For me it’s a pay to play question. If a card set is serialized and it’s the same for everybody to get it then I have no problem with it. But if a card set is serialized, but you have to pay more in order to get that then, it blocks certain people out of the hobby. Does that make sense? I still think that there’s no wrong way to collect, but if you’re going to bar people from a collecting community, just because they can’t afford it, I have a problem with that. And I think that’s why the current state of the graded card and sealed product side of the community bothers me.
(Edit: sorry for the horrendous speech to text lol)

I’d like to see wind and waves expansions to have real secret rares that are actually super secret. Not in players guides and not marketed. Not even numbered to be in the set but its own subset for wind and waves era with only 3-5 per expansion. No official documentation and it’s up to the community to discover them and talk about them.

25:54  That would be a dope way to get new patterns on Lechonk common cards!

Question:  Do you think Pokémon could sustain itself if they stop at Gen 10?
They can still forever make new games, new TCG sets and all the new merch they want.  They just can't design any new Pokémon for whatever reason.
Do you think Pokémon could continue it's popularity even without the addition of new mons?

Would you guys ever do longer episodes? It would be great to have occasional 2 hour + eps when new sets drop or for something like pokemon lore deep dives

agreed on serialized not feeling like its for the truest form of collecting. collect the art/character/style you like, most don't care how many of them exist but care that they're in their binder.

Smaller booster packs without energy and 3 commons could help with getting more product on the shelves. Good idea

Delta Specious idea is cool, of course...but in our Tik-Tok era, you must throw a Charizard or a Pikachu every "3 seconds"...otherwise people switch to something else 😃

I'd love to call in, say a spicy take, and "hang up to hear your answer" XD

The only returns I want to see are maybe the LC reverse holo pattern (we kinda thought the pikas from 30th would be that, but it's different), and shiny pokemon coming back. We've gotten 0 in Mega.

23:45 why the bulk disrespect 🥲😂

59:07 yessss Shugg thats what ive been saying bro. I talked about it in that “pop 3 weedle” video i made 😅 just because its “low pop” doesnt make it valuable. They Could just be low pop because no one liked the card/pokemon then, and no one likes it now 😂

Also, id love a Baker collab. Baker was my preferred brand of deck for many years. Santa Cruz has become a hype/collector brand over the last 10-15 years instead of being an actual skateboard brand.

Pokemon run30 is happening in Taiwan a few waves, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. I signed up for Taiwan mid November since I’m in Korea also signed up for Indonesia one with my girl while we’re in Bali, then I’ll do the Thailand one cause I’ll be out there for new years! The card is in the different asian languages and English for the English tcg Asian countries (Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia) 🕺🏽
