I really like the ironic twist where Thorn was originally Rose's scapegoat (she's no angel) only for Thorn to turn Rose into her alibi.

Imagining Wonder Woman taking custody of Rose to get her to transformation island and Circe, who’s of course always keeping tabs, finds out she’s got a woman with a super fragile psyche who can become a femme fatale alter and just starts chomping at the bit to try and get her hands on her

Rose: What does the Thorn have that I don't have?
Jay/Flash: Larceny???

Can't wait for the Allan Scott video! Jade and Obsidian deserve their own video as well.

Rose and thorn is in unironically a better adaptation of Jekyll and Hyde than most ones out there

I like the idea of it not really being a alternate personality but just a truly overwhelming coping mechanism to deal with the inability to take blame for bad things.

I like that for all the villains compared to Jekyll and Hyde, Rose and Thorn are actually one that works. Because Jekyll and Hyde is not the good and bad sides, it's the mask of respectability and the wild part underneath. Jekyll, like Rose, chooses to become another person to commit questionable acts without consequence until they lose control of the situation.

I really like how this villain is an excellent modern feminine take on the concept and I would love to see it explored further.

It’s funny how I’m finding that James Gunn, MAWS, and Caped Crusader are all better at taking lesser known/obscure characters and reinventing them to stand out vs how they handled very established characters
Cause this Thorn episode is one I wish was either a  two parter or at least a full hour episode

The whole thorns starting out as a scapegoat thing is pretty interesting never really seen something like that before

What a fascinating character. I feel like female characters are rarely given multiple personalities. The only example I can think of is Niki Sanders from the show Heroes.

Wonderful analysis as always love! 👏🏾

Wow I never knew the original Rose/Thorn was the mother of Jade and Obsidian.

Where's my GA Thorn and GA Star Sapphire team-up? 😇

I guess not getting dizzy is a required secondary power. It wouldn't make for good drama if she arrived with, "At last, Flash, I've got you... got... Um, excuse me a minute..."

"Slapping hand", holy crap, LMAO. I fell out my chair with that one. Great video.

I read the Rose and the Thorn issued in the 1970s, when I was in my early teens.  I specifically remember a couple of panels where The Thorn is active, and something happens to momentarily awaken Rose before she falls back into "schizoid slumber".  It scared and fascinated me, and sent me to the library for research on split personalities.  It led me to "Sybil", and, as a byproduct, the novel "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden".

1 MIN GANG!

Really love your long form retrospective vids😊 perfect background videos while painting miniatures, and it always gets me thinking how writers today could use these older characters

cannot stop looking at earings

19:45 "Careful, she might get hysterical ... get the slapping hand ready."🤣🤣🤣

Another character that I like that want to see/know more of is Black Orchid.

I watched Caped Crusader and thought, "I wish Sasha would do a breakdown of Rose and Thorn." And now here it is! Love it when
great minds" merge! 😁
