I agree with the black haired girl. I’d rather have more strength than program kipping pull-ups and butterfly pull-ups and toes to bar. Nothing annoys me more than having a workout programmed with 100 kipping pull-ups. It’s super annoying.
Wow, hi, it’s me Doctinaa in the video. First of all, I did not think that video was going to blow up in the CF community 😅. Thank you for agreeing with the points. I was hoping my sarcasm/exaggerating example would just come off as that 😂. I wish I would’ve just simplified it to kipping rig work in general. But, OWELL, we live and learn. Thank you for a tasteful, well-thought out response!
2:55 it actually makes perfect sense, whether his verbiage was correct or not. He said it's a recipe for injury, which is undoubtedly the biggest complaint that CrossFit receives.
I've been to a few boxes where they also did heavy lifting for time, which makes it very easy for a lot of people to mess up their form and get injured. Not being able to recognize this as a problem is a problem by itself. When you do heavy deadlifts, don't hurry. A lot of elements in Crossfit are great, but there's a few elements that are a recipe for disaster when used improperly (and this happens too often for my taste). Multiple friends quit Crossfit because they were injured at least once a year. I'd love to see a video where you critique certain bad crossfit methods instead of shitting on non-crossfitters that have an opinion.
I did CrossFit in college. I had a great trainer who really focused on form because he had a degree in physiology or whatever it is. (It's been 14 years haha). He was very safe, but he did get excited when people threw up from the workouts. Iykyk 😂. But he also dropped the CrossFit affiliation and claimed he no longer liked how they did things. (I think it was too expensive to pay for the affiliation itself, and he was making excuses. He said it was like 5 grand a year) So we went from doing cool CrossFit stuff to he hired a gymnastics trainer to come in there, because he suddenly wanted everyone in the gym to be able to walk on their hands. 😂 I hated the new system and workouts. I didn't wanna spend 2 hrs there learning gymnastics. so I asked him if he could train me with weights instead and he was like "well, idk if I like that for you. Maybe..." Like bro I'm paying to be here. Anyway, I stopped going and eventually quit, got fat and now I'm on a weight loss journey and I'm back to beginner status. 😅 I'm doing dumbbells at home until I have to join a gym or make one, and I'd like to start supplementing a CrossFit workout here and there for variety.
