GINIMBI — THE LAST PARTY | The Life and Death of Genius Kadungure
On the night of 7 November 2020, Genius "Ginimbi" Kadungure filmed himself stepping into his Rolls-Royce Wraith on his way to a birthday party at his nightclub, Dreams. Before dawn he and three others — Michelle "Mimi Moana" Amuli, Alicia Adams and Limumba Karim — were dead after a head-on collision on Borrowdale Road, Harare.
This Upright Films documentary follows the boy from Domboshava who built a gas business out of Zimbabwe's energy crisis, turned his life into a brand with the All-White parties and a famous car collection, fought and won Zimbabwe's biggest tax case against him, and left behind an estate that ended up in the High Court.

FAIRNESS NOTE
Allegations referred to in this film are allegations only. In July 2020 a Harare magistrate acquitted Genius Kadungure and his company in the 2018 tax case, finding the state had failed to prove its case. Figures such as party costs, car values and estimates of his wealth are as reported at the time and were never independently confirmed.
