I love watching reactors with a keen, astute eye for the subtle nuances of the grammar of filmic art. Shine on, you erudite diamond!

Although it is generally assumed that the minority group being discriminated against is likely Puerto Rican, by not explicitly naming an ethnicity or race or religion or background, it helps make the point that any prejudice can lead to the same problems, and helps make the point that prejudice can be a universal social negative, and appear against various groups at different times and locations.

Truly one of the best films ever made.

It's in black and white, set 99% in one room, and has no action scenes (unless you count some lunging and yelling). And yet, it's absolutely riveting.

Sometimes it is overlooked (especially when seen on a tv screen instead of in the theater) that at the very end, the lone man slowly going down the steps on the far side of the staircase, in the dark suit, hunched over in sadness, is Juror #3, undoubtedly thinking about how he regrets the situation with his son.

every person above 16 should watch this movie because one day they may be put in that situation

I get called for jury duty a lot (every few years) and the very first time, one of the women there said that every time she comes, she finds guilty, bc that’s what we’re there for. 😮 We weren’t on a jury atm, just out in the waiting room. But that’s why I show up, people like her.

Most people do not notice the very last thing it shows at the end of the movie. The last juror to change his mind is slowly walking down the stairs outside of the courthouse.

Lee J. Cobb, was a great actor. He originated the role of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman on Broadway and was nominated twice for an Oscar. His performances in On The Waterfront, and The Exorcist are noteworthy but I rather like his very understated and sincere supporting performance in The Song Of Bernadette (1943).

"The unexamined life is not worth living." You didn't make it up. You're quoting Socrates.

Henry Fonda’s Juror 8 is one of cinema’s greatest heroes

Air Conditioned buildings were rare in the fifties, especially in courtroom buildings, which tended to be older.

I saw this film at an early age and it gave me a sense of responsibility to serve as a juror and to pay attention to details and situations. Not attempt to avoid like everyone else.

I will confess the actual juror experience is not very convenient to one’s personal life and depending on what case you maybe be selected for, it could be quite disturbing, but I do my part and never try to avoid it, despite that.

I wish more ppl respected the process and understood why it is important for citizens to serve.

One of my favorites. There are so many talented men in one room.

Watching movies with you feels like being on the jury with Henry Fonda’s character!

I think they guy who seemed to put his glasses on to speak was more of a yes man, someone who hides his insecurity by going with the group, the majority. He covers his lack of mental fortitude with funny stories but can’t even tell them well. He’s not really used to doing his own thinking, but he is used to backing down on any ideas he has, the second someone opposes them. He lacks the self-confidence he tries to project, and when there’s not a majority for him to join and he’s obliged to decide something for himself, it’s a terrible strain.
