Priest River Idaho is a hidden gem tucked into the Idaho Panhandle where the Priest River meets the Pend Oreille River. In this video I walk you through everything about living in Priest River — median home prices, cost of living, property freedom, off-grid zoning, weather, healthcare, schools, and who this town actually works for.

Priest River isn't for everyone — it's not even for me. But if you value solitude over convenience, self-reliance over services, and 40 acres of forest over an HOA, this might be the most affordable, honest corner of North Idaho nobody is talking about. spent many a summers here. Now I go back and still see grandma and grandpa, and I walk down to the dock.

In my Opinion, Priest Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the whole world! I used to live there. Nordman Idaho.

My sister & niece and her family moved to St Marie's about a year ago from Texas and they were welcomed into the town very nicely. My sister works at a local grocery store and my nieces husband works for the local logging mill.

Fairly accurate review. Really hoping for an above average snowfall this year so people can experience what this place is normally like. Shoveling and plowing snow 4 to 5 times a week, power outages at least once a month, frozen black ice unmaintaned roadways, closed down school systems, limited parking in town due to snow berms.
Hospital in Newport-if its important to you ask someone local about their experience there, I've been there, I'm still alive.

You do such an awesome job of putting together your videos. No fluff, No BS, just telling it like it is and that is truly refreshing. Seriously contemplating making the move from communist Washington State to north Idaho. We will definitely be contacting you in the future to assist in our relocation.

For me Priest River is the best place to live for me, every thing I was looking for. Been here for 11 years, living rural is perfect for me. I live close to the 18 mile marker off of highway 57. In this area there are no paved roads, dirt only and I hope that never changes, keeps the people out that would not be a good match for this area of Priest River. I lived in the California Sierra Nevada mountains for 22 years but could take commifornia any longer, I am in a place I was ment to bet.

As far as snow goes the last 2 years have been really light, no comparison to previouse years, the deepest it has been since I lived here was 11 feet at my house. If your an outdoor type person and are into ATV's there are endless strails/roads to explore and propable the best views of the surrouding mountains. Me and my buddy just 60+ miles today. Priest River. an awesome place but not for everyone.
