Hey Swedish guy here, just wanted to say that the stickers on the back of the car 19:35 spell out "no panties left dry"

A guy with his turboed R-motorcycle told me he was racing his bike in Sweden on night, doing +300kmh when a white Volvo passed him and dissapeared

The "Revelations" vibes are pretty strong in this one ;-)

All the mentions of the Alfa’s and the BMW’S, yet almost every bit of race footage used in this video, shows the Rover SD1’s and not a single mention…

Swede here, I've tuned so many of these in my past, competed in Folkrace in it as a teenager and later on tuned them for drag races.
It's a fantastic platform that doesn't cost much (now they are starting to) and the engines are really durable.

2026. The year an iPhone was successfully compared to toilet paper. Well done sir, you made history today.

The sticker on the blue 160 Volvo, "Inte en trosa torr!" 😂😂😂😂

As a new S60R owner, could not have a better video drop on my feed! An Albon classic move...

Old volvos are super underrated, love my 740 drift brick

I didn't know it would be so much fun watching a younger generation discover our cars.

Helped a friend collect a giant oak beam for his house restoration, using a 245 estate…. The rear springs bottomed out when loaded and I thought it was trashed …. He started it and the hydro pneumatic suspension just pumped the back up…. Dragged the beam out when we got to his house… a lesser car would’ve broken . Despite being grossly abused it lasted another decade before a large tractor prematurely ended its life.

Legendary whip. I love all the unsung rally beasts.

Got to love them. When we were blessed with twins I capitulated and bought a 245 (waggon, estate, combi, 5-door). Drove 330 000 km until the rust ate it. Now: A rust free last year (93) with only 250 000 km on the clock. My grandchildren will use it...

talking about monstertrucks. At a local motorshow a monstertruck went over a row of Volvo's and SaaB's, but there was an italian car in the middle that went flat and the monstertruck got stuck. :)

My 240 has cut springs, a welded diff, and half a million kilometres. lol

cream yellow brick will always be best

I've been a mechanic since 1980. In '87 a stock 760 turbo station-wagon required resetting the wastegate > road-test time! 🤔

A 2.3-litre Volvo with 16psi of boost, OMg, it reminded me of driving a (GM) Holden VL turbo Commodore, with Nissan's RB3.0ET, yep, cousin of an RB26DETT. So we slowly screwed it down to 9psi; strangely, that took a LOT of road-testing with the apprentice! 🤣 Was this perhaps why Volvo had just won last year's Australian Touring Car Championship under Group-A rules? (Mechanics do need to road-test customer cars for emergency situations. Those are the ONLY reasons, I swear!)

Swedish cars had always seemed a little 'curious' down south, in Australia. But until GM and Ford both got to screw with Sweden's homegrown cars, I'd felt an unusual pride that only the great-grandson of a Stockholm emigrant engineer could feel in Oz. At least Sweden still gets to build cars locally, unlike what GM and Ford ensured happened here. 😭

Building 500 and then detuning most of them, if only Peter Brock & his HDT had known about that clever trick the year before! Ha. 🙃

I love that you were standing walking and interacting with Volvo in this video. Felt more dynamic. Love it! Also lemme drive that volvo

I love my 242 and they really are the perfect understated platform. I paid 1000 bucks for my 77 242 and now its got a bmw irs setup a c6 vette front setup im working on and a 5 cylinder powerplant.
