Stay safe, be careful

I received the notification for this video and immediately felt sad. This is horrible. Even though it’s virtual, please feel a hug from all of us fans and students.

Just wanted to say that I used to watch your content back when I was N5, and I’m almost N1 now. Without you, I would have never learned the language. Stay safe and thank you, I wish you luck with this horrible situation

It breaks my heart to hear this. Stay safe and take care of yourself Misa :(

Thank you for being an inspiration to many of us. Stay safe & strong

It's always that one weird ass dude that ruins everything smh

Best japanese teacher out there for a decade. You are legit and deserve to have us support you in this time. Stay strong!

stalkers are awful i had one find my house before. i wish you the best and hope for ur protection.

You are so valid to be concerned. Please take this seriously and fight for yourself misa. Do not be scared to ask for help because YOU NEED IT !! Therapists, police friends, anything. Do not give the creepy people more of your empathy because they will take more and more and more.

Be kind to yourself. Tysm for all the content you have shared with us. You are amazing and you deserve to be safe.

The Austrian YouTuber Kyzer went through a terrifying stalking situation that lasted for over two years. He was targeted by a woman who suffered from a severe delusion called erotomania (also known as de Clerambault's syndrome).
In her mind, she was genuinely convinced that she and Kyzer were married on a spiritual level and belonged together as "twin flames". She created a completely fictional narrative where they were a couple, completely detached from reality.
Because Kyzer obviously did not respond to her or validate her fantasy, her delusion quickly turned into aggression, harassment, and severe online abuse. She bombarded him with insults, threats, and endless messages because, in her world, he was "betraying" their marriage. It became an incredibly stressful situation for him because logic and blocking her didn't work—since the "relationship" only existed inside her head, nothing he said could break her delusion.

What you are experiencing right now is real, and it is incredibly frightening. Stalkers with this kind of delusion do not react to logic, because their brain twists every boundary you set into a 'test of love' or a 'betrayal'. You are not crazy, you did nothing wrong, and just like Kyzer, you have every right to protect yourself legally and emotionally. Do not engage with him, document everything, and please seek support.

I’m so sorry Misa. It feels like every woman I know has experienced stalking or assault and it’s horrifying how common it is and how hard it is for anything to be done legally to protect people from creeps and psychos.

Misa, I really hope you find a place somewhere as safe as possible.

Police are supposed to help but saying “We can’t do much.” breaks my heart as a fellow girl, I would feel all alone too.

Hi Misa, I'm usually a quiet viewer but,

Is there maybe a friend from another town you could stay with in the meantime or some net café far away from your location you could temporarily lodge at?

I'm so sorry you're in this situation, it's terrifying and unfair the police isn't offering any protection.

You can always reach out to your audience though and I'm sure many have been in similar scary situations involving men.
I hope just talking to people and sharing your experiences can be a bit of comfort in this difficult times.

I've been stalked at work before so I'm always carrying pepper spray on me,
pls do anything possible to protect yourself and stay safe !

Misa you have helped so many people and done such great work to connect people. I'm incredibly sorry to hear about this and genuinely hope things work out the best for you.

This is heartbreaking to hear... I hate stalkers. My sister was stalked by her ex husband and it only stopped after she moved to another city. My mother had a similar experience. I know how distressing it can be. The fact this guy tracked you down is insane. He's definitely not mentally sane. Stay safe. <3

I am so mad hearing this. You are the best Japanese teacher and you don’t deserve this but stay strong and I am sure that you will go through this and accomplish a lot of things.

Thanks!  Hope this helps.

In addition to pepper spray, one thing you could get is a button that makes a very loud noise when pressed, to surprise the stalker and alert nearby people. My dad got me one after I was followed.

I'm glad you have a big dog! In Japan, you can keep pepper spray in your home for self-defense, so I would do that and keep it on you. It's too bad they make things complicated for self-defense outside the home. Can you put security cameras around your place, inside and out? I would recommend that too. And be sure you show on the door and windows that you have them as a deterrent. I'm so sorry some sicko has tracked you down. That is so scary.
