The Esk Valley Explorer Rail tour - Commences at Carnforth and travels to York. Leaving the ECML at Northallerton, the tour takes the Eaglescliffe line and crosses Yarm Viaduct high above the River Tees before continuing through Middlesbrough to join the Esk Valley Line. At Battersby, steam resumes for the trip down to Whitby passing through Kildale, Commondale, Danby and Glaisdale. At Grosmont, where the Esk Valley Line meets the North Yorkshire Moors Railway the line passes through Sleights and Ruswarp before arriving at Whitby.
