I get more out of this kind of sermons than any of the modern day preaching. When I listen to C. H. Surgeon. I go filled and nourished. When I go or listen to preachers who bounce around in the Bible, shout and tell I leave empty. I couldn't even begin to tell you what was preached. I leave empty. I like this and I like R.C. Sproul and John Barnett DTBM.

I have no one.  I am in bed disabled all day.  I am alone.  I am despised for talking about Jesus everywhere- even Church- especially Church where my sufferings "must be from God" or "He must deserve it".  

Sometimes it feels even God doesn't see me.  I deserve it.  I haven't had any food in 2 days.  I barely get some medicine for my sufferings.  No one visits.  I have no one.  This hope that Christ forgives and receives is all I have.  I even had petty relatives who hated each other, and not brave enough to curse one another face to face would pull me- a 4 year old- into dark closets and assault me and curse me in God's name to exact their hate upon each other.  

I believed in Jesus and longed for Him, and even these curses are still hatefully hounding me down, though I never once hurt those people.  My Father used to beat me until he was on all 4's in his vigorous youth gasping to breath and dripping great drop of sweat while my Mother enjoyed it - I was 4 and 5 and 6, and I would drift in and out of consciousness asking if he was ok- if he could breathe- after he did that to me.  

I don't understand why my dad had to stop my mom from trying to smother me with a pillow 3 times as I slept- so "he didnt go to prison with her," or how I barely escaped her running around the kitchen island as she tried to stab me to death for over 20 minutes when I was 18.  

I have more than I can bear still He is helping me.  I am so broken.  I have only Jesus, yet I know I do grieve Him- His Spirit and I am so sorry to Him.  I am so sorry Jesus.

I don't know how to make it anymore, yet He is there somehow still.  

Even my neck was broken on purpose by a violent person while I was on duty on the Ambulance trying to help people.  I am 😢 right now, so sorry.

Jesus was my ONLY Friend, and I have no hope but Him.  I need relief for a season at least please.  I needed a safe place to express this too.

I am sorry to the ONLY Friend- The Lord- that I ever had- please heal and forgive me or please come get me.  See me at least.

I have not heard one bad Charles Spurgeon sermon

I particularly like the part where you said “toiling for wealth as if this world was all we have”. Since last year when I encountered the Holy Spirit, I lost interest in worldly riches and just want to give everything I earn away to support others.
This sermon has also invigorated me, I attend church but everyone just seems to be more interested in money or career than the Holy Spirit.
