So make things easy on yourself! Watch this video for a bevy of tips and tricks to make audiobook editing as efficient (and painless) as possible. What's more, by the end of it your audio will meet ACX submission standards!

Just to add on, if you are doing this now in 2025 onwards. There is a limiter and a legacy limiter. You want to use the legacy one in the newer version of audacity. My settings got messed up until I realised that little wrinkle

My guy, this video is gold. Simple, straightforward, and easy to follow. My kind of tutorial. I was getting a little overwhelmed figuring out how to edit my audio. I'm excited to get started on my first samples and auditions, and I feel so much more confident after watching this.

This video is an absolute life saver, thank you! I have been trying to hard to figure out how to get to ACX levels of accepable db, trying to figure it out myself and play around with it (while knowing full well I would still research it and do it properly once it came to it), but who knew it was so simple as a little tool already built into the program! Learning about this feels like controlling magic, and you're so simple and clear about all of this. Thank you thank you!

I wish I found this video before I spend hours listening to others giving you only bits and pieces. Look forward to your other videos and tips. 🙏

The dog clicker is a life changer!! Thank you so much for that! This is my first book, and I’m still learning the ropes. Love your video. Great , clear information! Please keep them coming!

This was seriously the BEST video I’ve watched to help set everything up. The first time I did it I didn’t write down what I’d done. I had to get a new computer and set everything back up and couldn’t remember what I’d done, but your suggestions made things even easier than the first time I set it up! Thank you so much!!!!!!

This video has literally made my week. I just booked my first audiobook recording and I’m new to Audacity, and you have helped me tremendously!!

I can't thank you enough. I'm just starting out, and this single video dropped the difficulty rating from a 9 out of 10 to a 4 out of 10 for figuring out how to edit Audacity with no experience. Thank you!

I'm so glad I found this before I started recording! I've found I can use a pen with a sturdy click to get the same effect. It's also not as harsh on my ears. Thanks again!!

To make the selecting for deleting easier press the Z key. It adjusts the selection to the nearest 0 crossing.

Thank you so much for this series. I've been using Audacity for years (though not very effectively). I record vintage horror stories and have found an audience. Started with a lapel mic onto my phone. With background music, it helps to cover the mistakes.
But I wanted to share with you something that I found funny. Recently, I recorded in one of our rooms at my escape room. The walls are covered with sound dampening panels. I followed your steps for the ACX check, and it failed due to the floor level being too low, it's unnatural! Thought you might get a kick out of that one.
Thanks again for sharing these quick and easy tutorials. I've already ordered a dog clicker for the next recording!

Great tutorial! I` ve been recording for couple of years now, but some of your approaches are really a gem! Appreciate your vibe as well! Thank you!

For the De-Clicker, the de-esser, or whatever other effect filters that you will use over and over, Command-R will repeat the last effect you use. I will go through and do all my de-clicking at the same time and rather than go to the menu each time I can just select the section and hit Command-R.

After learning and using "punch and roll" at times, I too find have found that the "clicker" method seems more practical.

I really appreciate you making this video. I have been training daily in my voice booth. I have a day job at the moment and I am working on being at least partially self employed through voice acting by the end of 2024. This video gives me some good solutions and new methods that help so much to reduce the amount of editing work and the resulting frustration that go along with that. Thanks a lot. These videos help me to improve my skills and maintain confidence in turning this into an actual career. I have seen a few of your other videos and they're good too. I found your channel last week through the YouTube algorithm.
