"Every OSHA regulation is written in the blood of a dead worker" is an important phrase I like to keep in mind any time I think that safety standards or procedures seem like they're doing a bit much.

Elijah Wood was traveling in Sweden one summer and the radio had a segment called "Elijah Wood watch" where people could call in and say where they saw him, it was so weird

I am very happy with the growing list of Jontron reactions. My favorite JonTron video that I don't think I've seen anyone react to is his Architecture Tierlist.

10:55 ServSafe certificate holder here. The Danger Zone refers to temperatures at which bacteria grows more rapidly in food, between 40 and 135 degrees, even more so between 70 and 125 I believe. Potatoes are the worst offenders as they must be thrown away at the end of each night because of the risk of botulism

19:10 supposedly Robert Pattinson hated Twilight fans so much he would go days without showering so people would keep their distance. I'm surprised it worked honestly.

pepper CAN make you sneeze, but I think it's because of the fact that there is a lot of powdery material that gets into your nose and iritates sensetive bits in there. powder anything fine enough and I assume it'll do something similar

The fatal half inch was my nickname in highschool 😂. All jokes aside, I had to watch that specific safety video for my work

At least he's not as-salt-ing him.

Now that's what I call a stealth pun.

Also, Gandalf in the air safety video is Taika Waititi.

Little octo-guy be lovin' that Sonic hat.

Fun fact: Taika Watiti was in the LotR flight PSA. He’s the narrator and the Not Gandalf character

The steven seagal jontron video is a MUST WATCH

GUYS WAKE UP THERE'S A NEW BERRY VIDEO!!! 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️

10:50 yes, it is actually called the "temperature danger zone", where pathogens are able to grow on food between 41 and 135 degrees fahrenheit (they can grow especially fast between 70 and 125 degrees fahrenheit), so to keep food safe you have to minimize the amount of time it spends in the temperature danger zone. (source; I'm in culinary school)

Edit: also, this only applies to TCS food (Time and Temperature Control for Safety). There's also something called RTE food (ready-to-eat), but food can be both RTE and TCS at the same time, one or the other, or even neither; all food can be considered either TCS or non-TCS, and as either RTE or non-RTE, they aren't mutually exclusive.

For example, uncut fruits are typically considered both non-RTE and non-TCS, but once they are cut, most, if not all of them, become both RTE and TCS (although sometimes they might need to be washed before they can be considered an RTE food).

Raw chicken is considered a TCS food, but also as a non-RTE food. Even after cooking chicken to its minimum internal temperature (for chicken it's 165 degrees fahrenheit) it is still considered a TCS food, even though it also considered an RTE food at that point; it doesn't stop requiring time and temperature control just because it's cooked.

Seasonings are a good example of something that is always RTE and always non-TCS. All meat and most dairy are always TCS, but may or may not be RTE.

HOWEVER, even though raw chicken has to be cooked to 165 degrees fahrenheit before it's safe to eat, that doesn't mean you can just leave raw chicken in the temperature danger zone and expect the cooking process to make it safe to eat, and that goes for virtually any TCS food. Leaving raw TCS food in the temperature danger zone can potentially lead to the growth of bacteria that are capable of producing heat-resistant toxins, meaning that it cannot be made safe to eat simply by cooking it. While you might (emphasis on “might”) be able to kill any bacteria on the food through cooking, there is a very real risk that the toxins produced by those bacteria will still remain.

“I dropped an iron on my foot” are you literally one of the three stooges over here? 😂

16:15 Heat Syncope is a temporary loss of consciousness caused by a drop in blood pressure due to prolonged heat exposure. It's commonly preceded by light headedness, blurred vision, nausea, and confusion (forgetting where you are or what you're doing)

7:32 Yes, pepper ABSOLUTELY makes you sneeze, I can attest from personal experience.
