The first thing the judge says is we are here on a criminal complaint so I don't understand why DB tries to make it sound like it's a civil matter throughout the trial. I can't imagine how itchy it must have looked for the victims in the gallery to see the attorney put her arm around him as if she is comforting him. The judge also clearly says what the charges are and what the potential punishments would be.

I think the rocking is also his temper over attorney opper talking about his convictions. He did this also when victims were speaking before his sentencing.
