btw that was me that put that other flathaed in there. was gonna wait and see how long it took for you to notice

not me logging into youtube and seeing kirk posting a video and being so happy

I have a few experiences build pon for other…
1- u have to do proper outlet pipe for drain out and overflow system
2- u have to lay crusherun rock& sand at bottom pond, its good for your water clarity & can settle the remnants of dead leave

Man we used to hike here and fish a lot long before it was posted. Love to see you doing something awesome with that place. I only live 5 minutes from there. Would love to help you work on that place buddy. Best of luck!

definitely want a full series on the upgrades to the property. so cool to see man!

Just country boys having fun😂😂

Cole’s energy and smile are infectious love the videos with him in them! Also love he dives right in head first.

Ever had any beavers get in there ?  I have a pond about 2 acres and man the beavers got in the dam and they just riddled it with holes and dens. It caused my dam to fail and I had to do the same to mine as y’all got goin on here. Great video. Great work y’all

Nature with Nash approves. Gonna do this to our pond next.

Pack it full of shiners an flathead minnows, give them some time to settle in an spawn a little before letting loose a bunch of hunters. Think about if you are gonna maybe want a dock at some point. It sure would be a lot easier to put permanent dock post in while it's drained, Laura Farms recently made a beautiful little pond in her front yard but no solid dock. Guess a floating dock would work too. Im excited to see the monsters u get in it.

Wow!!!! Did not see this coming.😮

I have laughed more watching you guys in that pond than I have for two or three weeks. Great video!!

You seriously have the bestest of friends.   This was a very fun video.
We've been working hard to make the land we purchased better.   The deer population has increased.  We really want a pond and we have multiple springs on this property to work with to eventually make a pond.
Our neighbor friend has one of those Skid steers.   He let us borrow it for our whole foundation fixing problems.  Breaking the window does happen.   More often then we know.
Blessings to you and your family and this beautiful property you now have.

Yall seemed to be having a blast with this. 😊
If your worried about not having any cover for your fish you could plant willows along the banks but not the levie/dam, willows are great bank cover for fish also after you get the pond finished, you could alway get some structures specifically made for fish, there are alot of companies that make structures for hiding. If you want to make a natural structure for the fish, i would use a small pine tree attached to a cement brick to keep the tree in position and I would also mark where your structures are at. This improves the ability to fish close to those structures. From my experience from having smaller pond on my families farm we had problems with smaller fish not having somewhere to hide from the bigger fish and pine trees seem do alot better because their branches are really close together.

You should stock the pond with bluegill, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and other bait fish. Also it would be cool if could have trout

Stg everyone needs a friend like Cole, he would do anything for you Kirk and that’s rare air in a friend.

I have a pond that dries out every year. The racoons find and eat all the beached fish, and it rains, fills and the next year it is full of fish from runoff, birds, air currents, animals transporting eggs and the pond has fish again. If you build a pond, the fish find it on their own.

So stoked for you brother!! It’s incredible to,see how far you’ve come! Can’t wait for the new property to be finished

Check out the pond build videos that Daniel did on the Arms Family Homestead channel. They dug out all the sludge. Made the pond much bigger, added structure, etc. it turned out great!

I like this video. I would say about trees around. So u can cut just small ones which like a bush(sticks) and keep big trees(also can cut old branches on them as well).
So u will open your area, and keep good view and sun shadow for fish and u as well.

And cool things just melt ground around a pond (so it will destroy all those couch grass) and plant a lawn grass there that should cool and pretty .
