The NS certainly played their part but thank goodness for the regulars and the special forces, RAR and RLI and Scouts and SAS and Airforce

Capt Bob Lines Initiated Jungle Lane at pre-deployment battle camps with 5RR and 1POU. Very effective in waking Civvy's into to reality

Interesting talk, thanks. Us SAS guys had an almost love affair with 7, & then 8 Sqns. They were our literal lifelines with uplift after long distance deployments, resupply, and K Car support during Camp Attacks . Re the frugal use of 20 mm ammo, I recall a K Car gunner being hauled over the coals, after he gave us a far too long burst of support fire, after our sweep line was pinned down by accurate fire, in Zambia. The burst was around 10 rounds, I believe.

Joubs great talk . Did you not tell your late mother that in the Army you were in a Special Delivery Group ??

Great conversation. The SAS guys were great soldiers, together with the RLI and Scouts the best in the world no doubt. A sincere Thank you Joubs for protecting us.

Hannes I know it hasn’t been easy to get people to come forward, but it would be great to have a pure military conversation with some of these guys. Discussing weapons and tactics. Western vs Commie small arms - in the context of usefulness in the Rhodesian War. The RPD seems to get top marks from the SAS.

Hi Joubs and Hannes, great talk.
I have a question for Joubs if I can ask? I know there were two, or possibly three former Peterhouse guys on the Mkushi camp attack. Can you say what transpired with the well dressed and spoken Peterhouse guy who strolled out of the bush during the mopping up? I'm intrigued both as to who he was and what happened to him? I know a few captures were shown to the press when they flew in with Mike Eden SB. Feel free to message me directly
Cheers
