Still so beautiful to watch 2026

Sergei is such a delight to watch as a male skater , he is not pushing and pulling on ekaterina as much as I've seen pair skaters today, he was effortlessly graceful and masculine , always be my favorite pair ❤️

Breaks my heart to know he would succumb to a fatal heart attack a year later. They were truly an amazing couple. My heart broke for her.

Sergei: So tender, yet strong. THE most beautiful, expressive pairs skaters ever. None of us wanted this dream to die. Our hearts broke along with Katya’s the day Sergei left us. Still so difficult to comprehend. 💔

He was just a beautiful handsome young man, and she is STILL at 52 absolutely stunning.

I feel way too sick at heart that he is gone. They were perfectly beautiful together. The best.

This is exactly what pairs skating is supposed to be. It doesn't get any better than this.

Сколько в них любви нежности и жизни... Это самая красивая пара в истории фигурного катания.

It still breaks my heart to watch them. You wish so much you could reach in and somehow stop him from dying so young.  They were fantastic

There will never be another. They were poetry on ice.

Their hearts beat as one. They moved as one in perfect harmony.  It’s hard to believe he’s been gone for 20 years.  😢

They had so much warmth, I'm surprised the ice didn't melt underneath them.

Sergei’s loss broke every heart of every fan of ice skating. It felt criminal when he was taken the way he was. To this day, I still cry watching their programs. They were truly our real life fairy tale. I don’t know how Katia was able to survive it. She has done a beautiful job. Such a strong woman.

He was always looking at her, he was so in love with her. Best pair ever x

I'm an American 🇺🇸 and always wanted them to win.

This performance is historic. I don't know WHY this was not given a standing ovation. Maybe the audience didn't realize the significance of the final pose. Maybe a European audience might have been more moved. Gordeeva & Grinkov struck several poses that were straight from the sculptures of Rodin. In fact they were sculptures made while Rodin was with his legendary lover Camille Claudel, a relationship that went from bliss to despair sadly. Goordeeva & Grinkov clearly captured the bliss. The love affair between Rodin & Camille was one of the most moving and sad love stories in all of Art History. While some say Camille was a better sculptor than Rodin, he produced some of his best work while he was with her. In short, what Gordeeva and Grinkov produced here is no longer mere figure skating. Figure skating is only the vehicle. This is art on the very highest level. They used skating to create meaning. Breathtaking.

It's so sad to think that was the last Christmas they spent together. They would have deserved many more.

After them, no one came close to that kind of magic.

Сколько лет прошло,а они до сих пор для меня самые нежные ,самые прекрасные!!!

This performance was exquisite.  Their movements are so beautiful and the way he supported Ekaterina always showed in every performance.  His artistry matched hers.  They take your breath away.  It's still hard not to cry watching them skate knowing that Sergei didn't live long after this.  There will never be another G&G.❤😓
