Let's make a British classic: apple crumble with custard. While I tell you a little about its history, why this dessert is so closely linked to the UK, and some interesting facts about English apples, I'll share some interesting facts.

And as you know, I can't eat wheat, so we've adapted the crumble to be gluten-free, but we've tried to keep it as close as possible to the traditional English recipe.

🍎 GLUTEN-FREE APPLE CRUMBLE — Serves 4

For the filling:
600g Bramley apples
2 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp water
1 tsp cinnamon
Vanilla
For the crumble:
150g gluten-free all-purpose flour
100g cold butter
75g sugar
3 tbsp rolled oats
A pinch of salt

Bake at 190°C / 170°C fan-assisted for about 35-40 minutes

🥣 CUSTARD
200ml oat or regular milk
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sugar
Vanilla

Then simply serve the warm crumble with plenty of custard on top. For me, it's hard to find anything more autumnal than this! I hope you enjoy this cozy day at home with us 🤎
