Crucial point.  On that case people who cannot afford tickets should be separate away those who have paid for.  This is to support the brother yet some people eventually are expecting free, what is wrong with people?

What about Daras or Arabic schools that send kids home for not paying the fee to learn the Quran?

No evidence to back ur position all he said are not consistent with this..some will stay home cus no money and some will have money and say they dont have money. The prophet never ask specific amount but will only invite people to contribute any amount.. what this is encouraging is that all conference can come up with payment request

Please asked him ,what about someone who want to learn the holy Quran but doesn't have money , will he teach for free , because his Dara is among the most expensive Quranic centers in The Gambia , and is a big business for him, because he among the richest scholars ,thanks to his expensive tuition fee's,now the question ❓ is that Sunna?
