Kevin, Thanks for sharing some great tips. Letting the butterflies come to you and the distances from You to the Subject to the Background should really help someone new to shooting butterflies.
Butterflies and Dragonflies are some of my favourite subjects. My camera gear and setup is a Canon 90D with a Sigma 100-400 lens. My other lens is a Tamron 90mm Macro. I shoot manual with Auto ISO. I agree that the long zoom lens is convenient giving a longish set back from the subject, and a creamy out of focus background. Very nicely done video. Very informative, I will be watching more. I live in Toronto, Ontario and we a remarkable variety of wildlife here in the city.
