Testing the effect on accuracy of various amounts of torque on the action screws of the CZ 455 Precision Trainer at 50 yards and 100 yards with 4 shot groups from 5 in/lbs to 40 in/lbs in 5 lb increments.

Torque measured with a Wheeler Fat Wrench.

Always enjoy real world testing and honest, humble shooters. Just a plinker here, but adjusting a Savage Mkii from 10 pounds up to 16 pounds made a huge difference. 25 yard groups went from over 2” at 10 pounds to one hole (not ragged) at 16 pounds. It was just slightly larger than the bullet. That was just one afternoon with one rifle and one ammo type. Encourage everyone out there to experiment for yourself. Confirm or deny results. Stay safe, and “Keep up the Fire.”

Good video. Just wanted to let you know you are never supposed to loosen anything with a torque limiter. I’ve seen torque limiters get screwed up and lose all accuracy in the military, plus my brother is PMEL (precision measurement equipment laboratory) and he says 100% that doing that destroys the torque limiter’s accuracy and must be recalibrated afterwards. He would know. Thought you would want to know so you didn’t have to drop money on another one or have that one recalibrated

22LR is an amazing round. Great shots, despite the test seemingly being inconclusive. Probably difficult to make competitive setups and elite series CZs to group horribly.

Clean bore / fouled bore , cold /warm bore , ammunition in sun light at 50. Shade at 100 . Many unaccounted for variables but still AMAZING accuracy ! Gotta love rimfires

It also makes a difference what your stock is made out of. My wood CZ's like the 15 to 20 range and open up at 22.5 to 30 which the wood will start crushing above that.

As a smallbore prone shooter I found this to be a very interesting video. I also shoot a Lilja barrel on my Anschutz match 54 action. As a comment, do you think the magazine feed could be a source of variation. With a single shot bolt action rifle that is one variable that is removed. The potential for a bad feed damaging the bullet. Also, it appeared to be a very calm day, could see know movement in the grass to the left, but some wind flags down range would have helped to take that variable out of the equation as well. I like the Midas + in my rifle, but it will shoot Eley Match, Wolf Match Extra, about the same.
