Great post David!  So much misunderstanding about this system. The system is actually advantageous on a stock bike without decat.

I did a bit of a crazier thing. After I tuned my bike, I put the AIS back in. I rewired the sumo plug and hooked it up to a switch on my handlebar.
Now if I want gunshots I can force it open/close with a simple button
