"It's an 80's movie, I expect to see boobs!" 😂 Hands up who had a crush on callahan? 😉

"It's not an '80s movie without boobs."

Thank you for keeping us abreast of things, Jen.

It's totally juvenile but that podium scene never fails to make me laugh. George Gaynes' performance is hysterical.

Yes, the special effects guy who played Larvell Jones was comedian Michael Winslow, who also appeared in Spaceballs.

The blue oyster tango is still so distinct 40 years later.

3:12 "Aren't there a bunch of these movies? Like five or something?"
Yes. And each one is a little more slap-sticky than the last.

Check it out! She found her outdoor voice!
And you know, in a dicey situation, looks like she has good instincts.

'Going to The Blue Oyster' became something of a slang phrase, amongst kids, for a few years following this movie.

One of the true comedy classics. The entire cast did a hell of a job. I met Bubba Smith ( Hightower ) during my bodyguard days many years ago. He was a class act.

I think the second is worth watching as the film that introduced Bobcat Goldthwait to the world. You will probably recognize his unique voice. Most of the cast also returns.

High Tower's real name is Bubba Smith, former defensive lineman for the former Baltimore Colts back in the 60s and 70s.

Yes, Jones was in spaceballs. His name is Michael Winslow and everyone went to High School with him.

I'm so old... I remember the actor playing Lassard, the old man in charge who was lousy w/ numbers, was also on a show called Punky Brewster back in the early/mid 80s w/ an actress Soleil Moon Frye

@Actrjay 2 years ago

Hightower was played by Bubba Smith an NFL veteran. The irate guy who Hightower rear ended while learning to drive was the director of the movie, Hugh Wilson.

The podium scene is classic, but you did skip over one of my favorites when Tackleberry is hitting himself in the stomach then asks Barbra to hit him, so he slaps him across the face, hilarious.

Hey Jen, when you'd pointed out earlier about the kid that was wearing a M.A.S.H. t-shirt, the actor who played Lieutenant Harris was actually part of the cast of the TV adaptation of M.A.S.H.
