We've found ourselves in a real nuclear institute! And not just any nuclear institute, but one with enormous basements.
What happens if you go down to where nuclear physics has been practiced since the Soviet era?
In this episode, we gained access to a place that's practically impossible for the average visitor to access—the underground chambers of the Nuclear Physics Research Institute.
From the outside, it may look like an ordinary scientific building. But underneath, there are several levels of laboratories, research facilities, particle accelerators, and equipment whose history dates back to the Soviet era.
Today, together with a nuclear physicist, we'll descend underground to see with our own eyes how these underground spaces are structured, what modern physicists do, and why humanity needs to accelerate atomic particles in the first place.
