I emphasized the number of interviews because stats show that receiving more than 8 invitations usually leads to a match rate of over 90%. However, it’s still possible to match with just one interview, as long as you perform well. I’m putting my all into the few interviews I’ve secured, aiming to give my best shot at matching.
This year has been particularly tough for those needing visas, but we still have two months left in this season. I’m staying optimistic and trusting the process. I’ve been open about my journey so far and promise to share the outcome in March with complete transparency.
Again, I want to emphasize that the process is challenging but not impossible. If you’re truly passionate, focus on achieving the best scores, engaging in research, and gaining US clinical experience. Then, trust the process. Wishing everyone the best of luck and sending cheers your way!
P.S: Here's the Number of applicants in Internal medicine from the last 3 years according to ERAS data:
2022: 25,883 applicants
2023: 23,732 applicants
2024: 24,698 applicants
The number mentioned in the video is applicants per Program
