Delve into the fascinating and bloody history of the Macina Empire, founded by the marginalized shepherd turned theocratic ruler: Sekou Amadou. Discover how a 19th-century Fulani revolt in the Niger River's inner delta gave rise to the Diina, a ruthless state in the heart of modern-day Mali. From the epic Battle of Nukuma to the fratricidal wars against El Hadj Umar Tall's Toucouleur Empire, and finally to the brutal French colonial conquest, this video uncovers the secrets, historical distortions, and legacy of one of West Africa's most formidable powers. We will also analyze the profound impact of these conquests on contemporary Malian society, particularly through its land tenure system and inherited social tensions.

1) l'Empire du Wagadou ou Ghana;
2) l'Empire du Mali ;
