I just had to come comment and say a huge thank you for all of your education. Right now I’m obsessed with jewelry and have been wanting to start going to estate sales but was feeling a little hesitant.
Well, I went to my first two the last two weekends and have had success at each one!!
The first one I found some beautiful 925 pieces, and the one yesterday was a total score! I found a 14 karat gold filled watch made back in the 60s. The construction of it is so gorgeous. It fits me so beautifully and feels like it was meant to be on my body.. if it weren’t for you, I would not have known the difference between gold filled and gold plated. I wouldn’t have looked at the construction so close closely, and wouldn’t have felt so confident at the sale!!
And funny enough, there was a brooch I was looking at yesterday and I saw Monet on the back, but I assumed it was associated with the MLM company! 😂 we live and learn. Thank you for teaching us your ways - you are the queen of the thrift!

Btw, because of you, I took a broken dingy looking stick pen that had a clear center stone (I've had for years and thought was junk) to be evaluated, and it turned out to be 10 karat gold with a real diamond! I was so surprised! So thank you for inspiring me to do that.
