Televisión Pública
108,980 views
Mothers of Plaza de Mayo. The series describes the origins of the Mothers, their emergence as a movement denouncing state terrorism, and as the main symbol of resistance to the civic-military dictatorship established in 1976. Each of the eight episodes traces the journey of these women fighters, driving forces behind social, cultural, and political change in Argentine society. The story is narrated by the Mothers themselves through interviews that review the evolution of their struggle, from its beginnings until 2004.
With profound emotion and their characteristic strength, the Mothers speak of the coup d'état, the disappearances, the denunciations, the first marches, the Falklands War, the return of democracy, and the vindication of their children's struggle and human rights during the last decade.
This series commemorates 38 years of the Mothers' tireless and uninterrupted struggle and becomes an essential documentary production for remembering the past, understanding the present, and shaping the future.
