In the season 1 finale of Riverdale we get a brand new mystery that rockets us into Season 2. Archie’s Dad, Fred, is shot during a robbery of the local soda shop, Pop’s.

I think that means that we have another major mystery on our hands.
This is not a recap of the show Riverdale, this is me, watching the show for the first time and trying to solve the big mystery before the show reveals it.

We gotta keep this series going so Chase can experience the epic highs and lows of high school football.

chase’s achilles heel in solving riverdale’s mystery is thinking the writers had a plan before they started writing the season

"I think we're about to get the big reveal" he says 55 mins into a 2.5 hour video

i think in addition to "W" and "L" columns we need a "Chase solves it perfectly and then decides it's too obvious and heavy-handed to be the answer and locks in something else" bc I do feel like you should get partial credit for that! I think at this point writers just aren't expecting everyone to be paying as close attention as you are and so they make it more obvious for people who are on their phones while watching etc.

I know it's a small thing, but when Betty's sister gets pregnant, they lock her up at a convent - implying that the family has ties to religion. Especially the darker side of religion. So all the sinner stuff (and the hypocrisy) doesn't come completely out of nowhere.

The "Everyone is the Black Hood" theory is so fun! Chase is much more creative than the actual writers lol

did not expect a “but i’m a cheerleader” reference. the lesbian community stands with Chase Bridges

“and then alice is like ‘periwinkle?’ — because everyone in this show has a fuck ass name” actually crying, the names are just so unserious in this show 😭

It's insane how little they had this mystery planned. Like they changed the culprit's eye color like the episode prior to the reveal as if no one would notice.

Chases first theory, after the first set of 5 episodes, is unironically so much better than the actual show

chase is never pregnant but always delivers

the farm + gargoyle king might actually make chase lose his mind

Adding onto the mystery recommendation pile, “Who Is The Author” from Gravity Falls might be a fun changeup. It’s a lighter show that’s not too long, and it actively encourages mystery-hunting (there’s even a coded message in every end credits).
It doesn’t always focus on the main mystery, but the episodes are 20min so can probably be batched several at a time.

The sudden drop in energy and disappointment in your voice at the reveal is so real. You now, truly are, part of the Riverdale family. And it only gets worse from here. Good luck figuring out season 3. You're gonna need it.

CHAT, NO SPOILERS!!!!!

season 3 mystery is the identity of the "gargoyle king'.. its also probably one of the most nonsensical seasons of riverdale, would love to see you decode it!

Riverdale teaching people about the issues with the prison system is a shock to me. For profit prisons are a huge problem in the us because they are incentivized to keep people in prison, not help them become better members of society. they want higher recidivism rates and longer sentences because then they get more money. Not to mention, it's just disgusting to make money off the backs of inmates anyways. Its also been proven that for profit prisons are lower staffed and cut costs for medical care, which is dangerous for both staff and prisoners. it's just awful all around.

On a lighter note- great video. it's insanely hard to guess riverdale plots but you somehow make sense of the nonsensical
