How to overpower midday sun with One Godox AD200

In this episode I wanted to go into how you can overpower the sun using one Godox AD200. Contrary to popular belief, you don't need a Godox AD300, Godox AD400 or Godox AD600 in order to overpower the sun. If you know how to work with the tools you have, you can probably even do it with a speedlight (we did that for years before Godox came around). We went out to the sand dunes in southern california near the Arizona border for this shoot

If you have to leave the light in the frame, put the camera on a tripod, take a frame of the scene without the light, then place the light and take your shot. Make these two layers in PS and mask out the stand.

Hey really nice video! When U said it's good to count to 3 to take the next picture I believe you. That explained why my ad200 stopped working after 10 times... so when it's a sunny day, blue sky, it's ok to use the flash without modifier to fight against the sun? When its so sunny there is not point in using a softbox for example 65 or 90 cm because it will lose a lot of power am I right? Im going to have soon a weeding photoshooting, the girl wanta the pics in the beach but Im so scared due to the high contrast, and high lights... what advice would you give me? Will be watching all your videos to learn more. regards😘😘

Usually I use the Bare bulb on my ad200s , they are really powerful.

I usually do a lot of beach shoots with my AD600 because it will not over heat. I use it with the extended head which make sit a bit easier but still a pain to carry. My main concern with the AD200 is over heating. I used it once and it was the afternoon and it overheated within 15 mins of use at full power. Have you had that issue with yours?

1/1 is pretty taxing on the AD200. Also, some cameras will misfire when trying to sync at 1/250 due to Godox's limitation of about 1/160.

camera manufactures have really let photographers down with mirrorless cameras not having sensor shields for when changing lenses. The amount of junk that gets on the sensor compared to DSLR bodies is so high. And this really shows up in scenes like this when you stop down and have clean backgrounds. It must annoy landscape photographers to no end.
