Everyone always thinks Ichibe is a villain. He has ONE JOB. Maintain the 3 realms by any means necessary. Sacrifice one for the good of the rest of the universe. Not a fun job, but he damn well does it.

I'm inclined to agree with Ichibe's claim that the Soul King permitted himself to be dismembered and made a lynchpin. If he indeed possessed The Almighty in a form beyond even Yhwach, then the only way the ancestors and Ichibe could ever take him down was if he let them.

Ichibei is one of my top 10 favorites. He has a cool design, cool abilities and great lore behind him.

that was one reason why Shinsui gave his friends those tickets, just in case Ichigo ended up being the new soul king

In the anime Ichibei was more assured of himself, almost confident in the mission that the soul king entrusted them with. The soul king divided the primordial sea and the shinigami have been responsible for balancing the number of souls ever since. :_bigbrain:

I know the real origin of the name has been discussed to hell and back, but I like to think that the title of Bleach plays into the act of "erasing the lie"

The biggest mistake people make regarding Ichibe is they try to attribute human understanding to something utterly in-human and completely beyond the concept of humanity.

Such a great character

I have a feeling Ichibei might play a massive role in the Hell arc because for one him and Hell both predate the soul society and his design lowkey looks like Enma - Daio

Ichibe is the type of good character made him op but he had to loose so main character could shine. When in reality its impossible that they would loose

Let everything die
Or
Kill one guy

Ichibe: why do you all hate me for solving the trolley problem

You have to look at the bigger picture.

"No need, I painted the damn picture"  ~ Ichibei

A prequel movie showcasing the role the soul king played in the primordial world would be amazing

Ichibei only cares about keeping the systems of the world as they are. He has preferences on things, but no real care or attachment to anything that happens beyond his job. His experience and detachment gives him clarity in his actions, but at his core he still has a smug superiority of being a top primordial warrior who defined reality, and he relishes in demonstrating his superiority. He is a villain that only exists to enforce the ancient laws at any cost.

He owe me 5 dollars!

If Ichibe controls the color black, what does it mean for his eyes to become white?

Can u do a video on the 5 noble familes..interested in that...or pre sole king

There is a reason why I’ve been jokingly calling him Evil Gouken. You think he’s this somewhat kind monk like Gouken was. But really, he’s the epitome of a lawful neutral character. He’s not Akuma though. He only cares about preserving the balance of the worlds and was going to use Ichigo for that. Despite his “power” and “motives,” even he didn’t see Yhwach absorbing the King, which effectively spared Ichigo. This dude is really…frightening. Hence; Evil Gouken.

That thumbnail makes him look way more scary than he already  is

The Soul king Lore to me was such a punch of grim darkness to me that i couldn't help but draw parallels between the Soul king and the God emporer of mankind from 40k

Both betrayed
Both nothing more but a linchpin for thier respective species.

This grim dark aspect to bleach really sets this anime apart from other shounen
