1999: "I cant believe the laziness of the press."
2023: You aint seen nothing yet Hitch...

Hard to imagine that just 20 years ago, actual intellectuals were interviewed on television by intelligent, critical interviewers, about relevant political issues. What a time to be alive. I miss the 90s.

“It’s the height of bad manners to sleep with someone only once.”

I miss Christopher Hitchens

The reason why men like Christopher Hiitchen's are not on mainstream media anymore, is because there is a deliberate dumbing down in society.

It’s like Charlie Rose isn’t even listening, Hitchens makes an undeniable point for ten minutes only for Charlie Rose to keep asking “Is it possible you just hate Bill Clinton?”

@Indraveer1357 4 years ago

Christopher says to Charlie” What if a woman laid a charge of sexual assault against you?”. Well, that did happen!!! Actually, eight women and Charlie was fired!

Notice sharp intellect is never derailed by an interrupting interviewer.

I’ve thought about what’s so different about Christopher Hitchens and I realize it’s just the presence of enormous personal integrity. There is no hidden agenda to convert people to his opinion. It’s just simple reporting of how he views events through the lens of his consciousness. What an exemplary person!

Rose: “Is it possible that you're so wrapped up in… your… what's the best word?”
Hitchens: “Bottomless contempt.”
Gold.

It must have been maddening to constantly be right and not only have almost no one listen, but have them fight you the whole way saying you're wrong. An intellectual powerhouse we desperately need today. RIP good sir.

Charlie trying to defend Clinton’s indiscretions, and then getting completely cancelled because of his own Picadillos. The irony is stunning.

This aged well..This guy was a prophet.

Just imagine how hard it was back in the days before the internet to go out and do the work to discover government corruption and share that info with the world.

Notice how uncomfortable Charlie Rose is when speaking about sexual assault?

@IBWHUTID 3 years ago

Charlie Rose - gold medal for interupting the guest... Chris Hitchens - speaks the truth - subjectively & objectively.

@scottweisel3640 1 year ago

Rose keeps interrupting, but Hitchens remains undeterred and focused. The good thing about this interview/interrogation is that it isn’t edited and Hitchens gets his points across.
