Thank you God for leading me to this message. The timing, just like you Father, was perfect. When I became aware of the changes occurring not only in my mind but also my body and soul, I couldn’t wait to share the same with my Christian mother. I had imagined the two of us embracing, crying tears of joy, all while thanking God for these gifts. To my surprise, it was just the opposite. Baffling. With a confused look and state of disbelief, I said “aren’t you happy for me mom?” Her response “yes of course I am” in a less than believable tone in her voice. The issue was jealousy. This was extremely difficult for me to comprehend. As time went on, there were times she would tell me with a look of disgust “You have so much to learn about the Bible” or “Why are you always so cheery?” I guess my joy had become annoying; imagine that… SMH. So now, she and I rarely talk to each other because it opens the door for more hurtful comments. Friends that were once near and dear are now just a memory. That’s okay because God is my everything. With every passing day, my love for Him grows stronger and stronger. Hallelujah!
