You should make this video a trilogy with three spin-off sequels just to really drive the point home

Fatal flaw of the cinematic universe is that they're all reliant on each other for the next one to make sense. The early mcu movies worked because they all stood on their own. Fleshed out the characters. Made you care for them and then it was amazing when they were all in the same movie together. Now I got to do homework to enjoy an action movie blockbuster. No thanks.

Wild that Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde were in the same movie

The bad quality of Suicide Squad makes me extra sad because I genuinely liked Birds of Prey and James Gunn's Suicide Squad but it's like neither of them were given a fair chance because people assumed it would be as bad as the original

MCU worked because they made solid movies first and then a connected universe second. Every studio after that saw the money machine and rushed to cash in on it as quickly as possible by skipping the actual leg work needed to justify it. That's why you get the Dark Universe or the DCEU immediately advertising themselves as this big epic crossover party when they barely had one or two movies in. Marvel took the time to establish their world and characters first.

Yeah this video is good but you know what it needs? 5 more 3 hour movies, 7 miniseries and a crossover event to go with it.

Congrats on your collab with the invisible man, kinda weird that he was naked for the entire video tho

When Icarus turned and flew directly into the sun, I laughed hysterically in the theater

the issue with everything being a series or a crossover, is that there's so much for completely new people to catch up on. i personally never got into the dc/marvel shows cause it was SO MUCH to catch up on, and i'd rather spend that brainpower on something else.

Kind of telling that the one cinematic universe still doing ok is the one where people don't need to do homework to get it.
It's big monsters beating eachother up and then beating a bigger monster as friends! What more could you ask!?

5:19 I stopped keeping up with the MCU while i was going through a breakup and by the time i was feeling like watching movies i was so behind I didn’t care to catch up

Godzilla/Toho was the original CInematic universe and even in the modern day it's one of the better ones. The monsterverse releases things just far enough apart to not feel overwhelming. its quite pleasant to follow along with.

I’ve been most sad about the Dark Universe. A universe where Frankenstein’s monster, the mummy, the invisible man, the wolfman, and more are all real and can fight either each other or arrogant humans sounds cool as hell.

after endgame, i was done with marvel. honestly i was so burnt out. it was the ending that we needed, i didn't need this universe any more. i don't want to join any other "universes".

It's pretty ethical to not make people be in the same room as Depp and Cruise tbh, you never know who might end up hurt with those hollywood wildcards who never suffer consequences around.

yo some guy named evil pinely is using your face to make videos

Me and my brother saw madame web together the last night it was playing in our theater, after hearing what a dumpster fire it was, and I don't think we've ever laughed so hard in our lives. The line "My spider, where is my spider" had us cackling

pinelyisms like "sort of situation" are so awesome

there was a phase where everything needed to be a trilogy, even films that were meant to be standalone got announced as trilogies of they were a box office hit

To be fair to Hasbro, GI Joe and Transformers being a shared universe has uh. Been a thing for a VERY long time
