Great video Nikki, I have worked as a public and now private forester for nearly 50 years. The invention of the forestry mulcher has been a game changer. The machine can be used for many different silvicultural applications. Helps having a big enough machine and a skilled operator; great job!
That's going to save you so much time! All those downed trees from last year's storm will be food for your good tree's. Ash is the best firewood in my opinion. Burns hot and clean. I started losing white ash around 2001. Burned what I could. Currently trying to repopulate them from seed as the woodpeckers have the Ash borer under control.
You should’ve walked through where you could and marked as many trees as you were able with landscaping tape. It’s satisfying to see how quickly is does it and how nice it looks.
We did the same thing, left nothing but the maples. I planted pasture seed, and now have sheep in there. They just love to munch on the falling leaves.
