I can’t even lie, the operational details in this story are insanely specific. Either this actually happened, or the narrator knows the industry way too well to be guessing.
With the kind of decisions that he kept making, how did the father actually keep the business running for 35 years? Losing loney, losing money, losing money - son comes in and fixes things - making money, throw son away for favorite son, lose, lose, lose, get offered money for the business and TURN IT DOWN ...how did he survive 35 years?!?
24:30 the white dress in the video stopped me in my tracks, im literally cooking, dropped by knike and shouted for my relative to spectate "WHAT THE HELL"
As much as I LOVE when the family or whomever gets their karma, it pains me to hear stories like this in the trades fields as a carpenter and former blue collar employee as mom n pop businesses are run out of town, not from big companies like HomeDepot or walmart encroaching in, but interpersonal issues like this in their running of the business doesn't put other's livelihoods on the line that work for or with them as well as give family businesses or trades as a whole, a bad look and name.
The father is a sorry excuse of a man and business owner, especially for the Trades community, for what he did all because he wanted to stroke the egos of his incompetent favorite kids.
Now it's cost him everything, and his favorites have nothing to show or give back.
yes i'm happy not dealing with a toxic family and entitled nonsense, i'm happy doing good work and making people happy over dealing with a sperm donor who plays favorites and an entitled golden turd of a brother you failed as a parent every single day you failed as a husband and a man and a business owner, i'm literally happier without you in my life
I keep wondering: why ask for help, accept it, benefit from it… only to disrespect the person who saved the business? That part will never make sense to me.
That's a fire line.
