"I Spent A Day with Anthony Padilla" would be a good special episode. Anthony discussing his learnings throughout the years of interviewing.

"I'm stuck in this body and this role, and this is going to happen to me No matter what I want." Wow, that actually sounds so fucking terrifying. Like that’s literally the definition of body horror.

It seems to be really hard to articulate how it feels to be transgender. I think people oppose it because they struggle to understand and can't relate, and they can't accept that just because they can't understand it doesn't mean it isn't real. That's why videos like this are SO important and so helpful.

My brother is trans, honestly the only difference from before to now is I call him by a different name and he has way more confidence in himself. Otherwise he's always been the same person. He came out and everyone in the family was like "Yeah that tracks".

People are way nicer in the comments on this video than on the video Anthony did on trans women. I'm happy that people are starting to treat trans men with the respect they deserve, but I just wish people would do the same to trans women.

I love that , "i can be horny, but still can treat women with respect."

my dad is actually a trans man and he came out to me and my siblings when I think I was 5 so 2008. he's my biggest supporter and I'm his biggest advocate. I'm so happy to have someone like him as my dad and I'm so happy that you could bring someone on who went through very similar circumstances that makes us feel so seen.

One of the things I told my mom that really got her on board with my transition was “I’m sorry that you lost your daughter, but i promise to always be the man you hope she’d marry”

I remember being 17 and learning about trans people here on youtube. I was absolutely disgusted. I projected what my family had taught me, that these people were against nature and god and they were evil and mentally ill.

At 23 I came out as trans, and at 24 I started transitioning. I had to deal with a lot of internalized transphobia. But accepting yourself is so freeing. I'm now 28 and have had top surgery and I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life. For the first time I can look in the mirror and like what I see.

Being a transman is often ignored (other than the 'lost lesbian' craze from a few years ago) so thanks for this. It's really affirming to see it being recognised. I've also just started hormones so this couldn't have come at a better time for me so thanks

I read on Reddit somewhere from a trans person on what gender dysphoria feels like and why it’s so hard for many cos people to understand (paraphrasing here): “you can’t feel your bones if they’re healthy and working right, but you can immediately feel them when one breaks- you know something is wrong”

A reminder for trans people that you’re still valid even if you didn’t know/show signs of being trans as a kid

@Ari_C 4 years ago

the problem with the "trans men gaining male privilege" conversation is that trans men/transmasculine people who are read as men only experience that so long as the people interacting with them don't know they're trans. trans men still don't experience all the same privileges cis men do and the privileges they do experience rely on being able to hide the fact they're trans. often times when this topic is brought up those points are forgotten(or in some situations purposefully ignored) which really sucks

My best friend is a trans man. He taught me so much, not only about the trans experience, but about life all around. He once told me “I’ve lived life as both a woman and a man, through that, I realized how differently they’re treated day to day. Before I transitioned, I was being catcalled on a regular basis even as early as 10 years old. After I transitioned, no one ever paid any attention to me, it’s as if I’ve faded into the background, that no one even sees me. I’ve realized that women almost always get unwanted attention and men rarely get any attention at all”. It really opened my eyes, I’m a cis woman so I never even considered how men are treated like that since I haven’t experienced it myself. I met him in high school shortly after he started T. I was a senior, he was a sophomore. Now he’s 20 and I’m 22. He’s one of the most mature, brilliant, creative, and funny human beings I’ve known and I’m so glad I met him and that we’re still great friends.

As a trans girl it's such a similar experience except it's the other way around. I still find it agitating that people think it's just a phase or an act that we put on. It's not like we're a small group, look at all of us

@lellow7087 3 years ago

It’s so sad that some kids are so terrified to tell their parents about themselves in fear they’ll be disowned. Some parents shouldn’t have kids :(

@ashlynbrown3370 4 years ago

I have a coworker who gave birth as a teen and then transitioned. His daughter seems like the happiest child on earth and always refers to him as her "dad" its not damaging to children at all to not have "stereotypical parents"

@strangest4rz 4 years ago

I'm so glad you did trans men. As a trans man, I was waiting for this. You're literally amazing, Anthony.

@bones_boy 4 years ago (edited)

just a reminder that not all trans folks realise it at a young age! we all have different experiences and circumstances but we're all equally valid, no matter to whether you realised it when you were a kid or when you're an adult! love you <3
