FM27’s latest deep dive is all about Training and the brand-new Tactical Effectiveness system — and this could have a much bigger impact on long-term saves than a simple training screen redesign.

Sports Interactive are trying to connect tactics, training and recruitment much more closely in FM27, with players now needing to actually understand and be capable of executing the football you’re asking them to play.

In this video, I go through the key points from the official blog post and FAQs, including Tactical Effectiveness, Tactical Complexity, changes to match preparation, individual development, tactical fit in scouting and the revamped Training area.

Then I react to the official Sports Interactive deep dive in real time and see how all of this actually looks in the game.

Could this finally put an end to plug-and-play tactics? And more importantly for me, could FM27 actually make me stop delegating Training?

Hopefully this means you can't just sign a mostly new first choice XI every year and have it work almost instantly, so there's actually value in having players stick around and not making too many signings

I am like you Kev, I just hand off training responsibilities to my assistant. Always feels like a chore to do it myself properly and was hard to see any real gains, well at least to me! Even though its improved I will still be delegating it to my staff!!

I think two key things with tactical effectiveness will be: (1) when you come into a new club, do they already have a system they somewhat know and use? Because they should! And (2) it needs to recognise the difference between "the same system as before, with minor tweaks" and "a complete shift of focus". I don't want "oh, you gave one guy one new instruction, so now the familiarity resets to zero". It needs to scale the impact of changes in a way that "feels" sensible. It doesn't have to be *perfect*, but it needs to be there.

It's bascially merging the training and tactical sections. Its also a step on from rectuitment processes. I havd been doibng this for year in my own way but now my planning could actually be put to the test.......which is the shole f'ing point.
The game should be a test!!!!!!

Ooohhh, I might go back into training! I've always played FM different. So I let my Assistant do all the actual matches, and I love doing everything around the matches. I did training on FM26 twice, and it was like my hell... But this looks really good :)

Finally something that isn't a one tactic fits all! This definitely changes starting out in lower leagues and working your way to the top. I hope the coaching staff you hire has a bigger impact, but since they didn't touch on it I'm guessing not yet. imo this add way more emersion as you see your team/players evolve to your tactics. This also adds a great level of complexity when you are hired mid season, you need quick results and then gradually start to adjust their evolution to your ultimate tactical style. love it.
