Stallone has said that in an interview that he was depressed during that Oscar night because he wanted to take his mother to the ceremony but wouldn’t go unless they could bring her hairdresser (I think) and so he was sad the whole ceremony despite Rocky winning Best Picture

The thing with Diane Warren Is that her nominations are usually the film's only nomination. She needs to work with bigger productions if she wants to win

Dianne Warren is so real for her reaction because I have that exact same expression whenever she gets nominated for an Oscar.

Poor Glenn Close has had a lot of practice being on the losing side, and she's always so gracious in defeat. It's about time the Acadeny gave her the Oscar she's deserved all these years.

I like when the loser is unhappy - it’s more honest.

I'm thankful that the broadcast started featuring reaction shots in 1971. They are often the highlight of the show!

The Mark Ruffalance moment will forever be a favorite Oscars moment of mine. I remember thinking right before it happened, "Oh wouldn't it be funny if Rylance--" AND THEN IT HAPPENED 😂

And Ruffalo was the perfect person to take it in good stride and laugh it off. Just perfect

Queen L will be my favorite reaction EVER. She’s amazing

I'm so happy you called Peter Finch's performance an all timer, I could not agree more. His win is one of the best of all time in any category at the Oscars

michael keaton one makes me so sad he deserved the oscar so much

Dang, I never noticed that with Michael Keaton. Nothing against Eddie Redmayne who is great, but I was really pulling for Keaton to win it that year.

Marion Cotillard being so happy for Penelope Cruz's Oscar. She wasn't nominated but you can see her reaction sitting behind Amy Adams.

In my opinion, I think there should be an elusive Oscar video for Diane Warren. Glenn Close and Peter O Toole cannot compete with that streak

Similar to Keaton, when Anna Sawai won the Golden Globe for Shogun you see Kathy Bates, who was also nominated, look at the camera and tear up her speech with a funny expression on her face. She's admitted she loved Anna's performance, she's such a good sport

Stephanie Hsu in my opinion should've won best supporting actress. I felt more with her performance especially her monologue in the parking lot at the end

Meryl Streep's is a perfect example of what happens when the Academy gives you your flowers, and any other award is a plus. I feel she would have been just as happy for Viola Davis.
