I was hoping that the black and red koi was going to win. That's such a beautiful color combination

I love how you got frustrated at the Missed Yellow/Black Bumble bee so the next cut was going to eat sushi

Carl - you need a webcam on your pond so we can all enjoy it with you! I would have it on the TV all day while working!

This is a great video! Being a fisherman is weird as a contemplative person. I get that you love fish. I do too. I am an Alaskan and have been fishing for meat my whole life. I still absolutely respect and appreciate the fish that I harvest, they are amazing creatures! Don't feel like you need to justify the cost. If you can afford it and it makes you happy that's awesome. At least the fish end up in a place where they are cared for and valued. I am happy for you.

what a privilege to pick your own fish in japan. dont forget the saying a pond starts with a kohaku and ends with a kohaku and i think a kohaku will look very nice among your 1 color fish

Going all the way to Japan and than buy a big goldfish out of all those beautiful colored koi seems a bit weird mate, that black and gold one was beautiful.

the design of the bullet train is to resemble a kingfisher, and the long front bit is to reduce the boom the train makes coming out of tunnels. great video Carl.

Another wonderful movie Carl! Thank you very much for visiting us when you were in Hiroshima area 😊🙏

Nice footage. I wish you a lot of fun with your new koi. It’s always incredible to select your OWN koi in Japan and to see it swim in your own pond. 😊

Defo the red and black one

For me the black and red koi would have been my go to fish for sure. Great video as always mate

You travelled 6000 miles Carl, and had a myriad of beautiful and colourfully patterned fish to choose from and basically you chose a great big Goldfish fgs Lol😂

Incredible. It's such an amazing thing that youtube of all places has been a way of finding such unbelievable film makers like your self. Although I primarily watch you for the fishing content I cannot tell you how awesome that film was!

The red&black koi was so beautifull i would choose that.

I already know this is going to be a good vid 0:22

Thank you for sharing this amazing adventure with us.stunning fish with an epic story attached - the lava fish had my eye and my heart ❤😂

As someone who has been to Japan, if anyone is wondering if they should go or not… just go! It really is amazing, and the people are great.
