The review/video in May this year was very helpful explaining the benefits of having a geared tripod head and how it works.  This is a great follow up video explaining how to set it up and use it on location.  Thank you Dean

you couldn't have picked a better background for this video. well done

Nice and good review and the Chinese have once again looked to the Arca Swiss D4 Geared Head in trying (not really) to copy it. The bubble under the camera on the plate is of course dramatic in handling.  Compared to the Arca Swiss D4 it's still bulky, although less bulky than a Benro....but a nice alternative if you can't afford the superb Arca Swiss D4.

You had me until 4:50 Portrait mode. "Fiddly" is an understatement. But thank you for doing the video--much appreciated :)

Good Video.  This is a great head helping get my composition just where I want it.   The camera does not move like it does on a ball head.

for the same price i bought a carbon fiber tripod

Sure it’s light and nice compared with the 410 but how does it behave under a 500mm lens? I see it’s rated to 4kg but looks rather flimsy…

Do you think this geared head would be a good substitute for a tilted lens?

Have you tried more than 4kg on this head? I mean like a Pro Body with a Medium Zoom?

Thanks for the review. I have been looking for a lighter gear head (currently use Manfrotto 400) and looks like this fits the bill. Any recommendation for the tripod?

Great tutorial very helpful.  What is the diameter of the tripod head base?  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Thank you.Very helpful.  I am awaiting delivery of mine. Can I ask? Can the top 'pano' mount/clamp be removed, as one can with a ball head? I would always pan from the bottom. I have an integrated leveling base on my tripod.  If you can remove the top pano. I would swop out with a non-pano lever style clamp such as SmallRig's 2143 QR clamp. I personally prefer over screw types.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your useful video.

So far so good with this head?

Any issue once you lock the knob and it has a slight movement on the top part(angle slightly off a bit) ?

Cheers

03:59, the way u have it set up sucks, because when u turn the top while forward/backwards, the camera moves horizontally, and when u turn the bottom knob horizontally, the camera moves forward/backwards. that's stupid
