This was an amazing song!! What is your favourite Babymetal song? And Why?

Good reaction.🦊Kami means god or spirit - in BABYMETAL lore the Kami Band are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned by the Fox God to support BABYMETAL in all their live shows.
That is their relationship - the Kami Band is the live band for all BABYMETAL live shows since the Budokan Red and Black Night concerts on 1st and 2nd March 2014.

The Kami Band first appeared in October 2012 and they were phased in over the next 18 months or so playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in some shows.

The Kami Band of the East (Japanese musicians) last appeared in January 2023.  In 2019 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) started playing at the increasingly lengthy foreign tours as the East Kamis could not commit to being away from their own bands, projects and families for so long at a time, but they did continue to play at all the concerts in Japan.
Since April 2023 the Kami Band of the West have played every concert regardless of location.

This video had the Kami Band of the West (for this show guitarists Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio, Clint Tustin on bass and Anthony Barone on drums.

Kami Band intros are their own compositions, so yes they are separate from but linked to the BABYMETAL song - but the intros do not appear on the albums (the Kami Band do not do the studio recordings), they are only played live.

Yes Legend MM were the concerts in March 2024 celebrating Momometal's 21st birthday.  She had supported Su and Moa since 2019 (after original third member Yui left) as a dancer before becoming the official third member in April 2023.

'Kagerou' was first performed in 2018 as a solo by Su-metal and it was known as 'Tattoo' at that time.

🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 🌡 🔥 - Great song choice.
Su and Moa had talked about presenting a more adult version of "Kawaii Metal" as they get older.
They often mentioned 'Elevator Girl', but I think this song is a better example.
They've also said that it took a while to get used to the more agressive Metal sound of their Western Kami Band.
IMO, this is the best pure rocker they've given Su since 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!'.
I've loved this one ever since it was a Su-metal solo song known as 'Tattoo' on the 2018 tour.
And the choreography is a lot of fun. Both Su's freestyling in the original version, and the living heat wave with Su, Moa and Momoko.
Of course folks were pretty happy to see "The Kamis From the West" get solos.
Momometal (Momoko Okazaki) became an official member in 2023.
She was one of the "avengers", supporting dancers since 2019.

Every live show they play with the Kami Band but this song has solos by them so it sounds like they are a special fixture but they play with Babymetal every single show

Good one, thanks!
As already mentioned, the Kami Band is BABYMETAL's live band, formed by session musicians. So, they only play at shows and you will not see or hear them in music videos or studio recordings. With the only exception of Leda Cygnus who has played guitars and bass in a few studio versions.

I must admit that I'm not a big hard rock fan and this song went somewhat unnoticed for a while (the studio version of Metal Galaxy, without the solos). Until the live album came out and there, almost by surprise, everything changed. To tell the truth, those solos were what made it possible, especially Mr. Anthony Barone's ending with that blast beat using his signature technique, the gravity blast. The rest of the Kami Band lineup was (in order of solos): Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars) and Clint Tustin (bass).

The song represents the more adult side of BABYMETAL both for the choreography and for the lyrics with a theme that is not usual for them: jealousy. I believe that this live performance speaks for itself and I'm so grateful to have experienced it in person.

By the way, the Kami Band current lineup (as they are touring in Australia as we speak) is: Chris Kelly and CJ Masciantonio (guitars) Ricky Armellino (bass) and Eugene Ryabchenko (drums).
🤘🦊

The pronouncation is fine.
With this performance came the realization that Babymetal were no longer precious girls, but all grown up.
Kagerou is perhaps Babymetal's most adult song dealing with the stages of a relationship, at first soring, next with faultering trust and finally, breaking apart.
The sensual dance moves, something rarely seen from Babymetal, are accented with swaying as if seen thru a haze and deep lower body movements.
Mayflies (an aternative meaning of Kagerou) are an iconic symbol in Japanese culture and there is an element of their flittering and the brevity of life as they fall to the ground.
Your querries about the Kami Band bring up the subject of what's behind Babymetal and it should be known that there is a brillant team of songwriters, lyricists and support staff that have been there since the begining (I think there have been very few defections, a testament for a love for what they do and the caring nature of the whole enterprise). Chief among them is Mikiko, their choreographer, who's genious is evident here. She was there from the very begining working w/ the girls of Sakura Gakuin (the original idol group from which Babymetal sprang forth) and like Su, Yui and Moa, was introduced to metal music by the creater of Babymetal, Koba. Since the girls seldom talk about themselves, much of the insights to their personalities and the early years come from interviews she has done. Things like Su's ditzyness until she challenged herself and focused on being the best she could be, Moa's inner strenght beneath that impish exterior and Yui's vunerability. And how after several years, she had to start training them like athletes to protect their bodies. Babymetal was not the first  trio Mikiko has worked with over the years. She is also the choreographer for Babymetal's "big sisters", the super group Perfume.

My favourite Babymetal song and video. I wish it was going to be played on Friday when I see them!!!!!!!

👍👍An awesome, awesome, awesome performance🔥🔥🔥. Great reaction. 🦊     🖖❤

Since-I believe-2012 Babymetal have essentially had two touring bands. The OG Kami Band, featuring Japanese top session musicians and since-again I believe-2019 the Western Kami Band-all top North American musician's.

Both versions of the Kami Band have had a fairly stable core group of musicians. Substitutions occasionally happen due to artist availability. Curiously there has only ever been one Kami Band member who has played on a studio recording. Guitarist Leda Cygnus. Back in 2015 and most recently on "White Flame" the closer to the "Metal Forth" album. On which he tears the joint up on both bass and some burn the house down guitar solos.

Great reaction...  Kagerou indeed sizzles.  One of my favs is Syncopation another hot track I see you haven't played it yet.
There is a guide to Babymetal that will explain about the Kami bands (East - West) called... The Not So Extensive Guide to Babymetal (April 1st 2024)  with other information about Babymetal from the start 2010 to April 2024.

Nice job bro, thx! Babymetal is incredible!🤘🦊

Originally debuted as un-named, given the temporary title Tattoo, finally officially titled Kagerou. Not really a "Su solo" but it did come out around/during/before/ the Avenger era, with the change in costume/ dance formation/"Muscle dancers". Pronounced Ka Ge Rou, like Ca in car, ge in get, and ro as row ( long "O" sound). Updated guide will help you a lot.

👍

These are the kind of Songs that tend to be missed but they are a huge part of what Babymetal are, while they have a huge part of Evergreens. But the spicecare often the smaller side numbers, as Kaderou, or Java or Syncopation. They are to be exact the Kami Band West, but since April of 2023they are the only Kami Band they have. They are US Musicians, that support every of their live shows. They have no real place in their Song Design but in the performance of theirvlive shows. They are a huge bit more than Standard hires. They knowvtheir placecand the crew and they are not parts of their Marketing,  this is whatvthe Girls do.
Every one of them has his own personal projects, but when they call they came. From time to time the Standard Guy is not available but this is not a huge issue, sometimes they can offer their own replacement sometimes they have to pick someone for a few Concerts. From the perspective of the Kamis it is simply a well payed Gig with one of the best Crews in the industry. But you have to keep up with your work, Babymetal have a huge number of Songwriters that they are working with and you are expected to play these Songs and if they are written by Polyphia or Mat Matsumoto. This is your job.
