The CS thing is the most important point mentioned. I'm playing Top in Low Masta and main Tanks, I have like 7cs/min on average. I focus on not missing minions when I am in lane, but I'm surely not gonna afk Splitpush on Champs that are just not good at it, like mine. When I realized this my impact instantly improved noticeably. Plus being in the action more frequently is also just fun lmao

A rule of thumb will never replace thinking, in the case @ 2:50 for example Quinn is insane 1v1 but her biggest weakness is defense, thus getting ganked. Guess what she IS a juicy shutdown for the team.
If she was a Darius, Sett or Aatrox or hell even a Zac or other champions that either resist dives very well or have 1vX advantages ( AoE, healing etc. ) then it's different. It's a good thing to point out.
Take Cassiopea for example, she is impossible to lane against for some melee matchups however she is easily killed during ganks with CC

If you leave your laner to suffer 1 on 1 she will snowball and might take over, shut her down even a bit your laner might find a good recall pattern to avoid her trades -
It's the magic of games like leauge that you can't just come up with one rule to win all games

It's almost always actually good advice, people just dont understand why it is. E.g. dont chase random kills doesnt mean dont fight, it means if you had to commit as much resources into getting a single kill on a low health enemy running away as you would just getting drake, the objective is almost always the better option. It's way more specific than they make it sound, but in this case, I've seen my teammates chase kills for over 20-30 seconds just to die, or even if they get the kill they just overextend and die later anyway.

4:45 I tell Magic players this same advice all the time. Don't worry about what deck has the most market share; just pick a tier 1 or 2 deck that you like playing because it is a fact that people try harder and play better with a deck that they personally like, and that moves the needle way more than whether some deck theoretically has a .4% advantage over the field in some imaginary ideal metagame.

3:14 in my experience as jg, it's always a play towards draven lane- if they're on your team then feed them so they snowball or if they're enemy team then permagank them until they ragequit and lose the game for their team singlehandedly lmao

9:42 yes that's the biggest thing I've learned for jg, you gotta play selfish because if you follow every single ping you will not only die more but also you will play worse because your team will inevitably bait you into bad plays and lose you farm/objectives off them. it's better to keep your camp clear tempo than risk it all for a play that might not work. if it's a definite kill then go for it but otherwise stick to your guaranteed income/experience.

8:27 well, he's just playing looking at the minimap, I like it

0:48 no AI, just oldschool memes, love it

The problem isn’t the bad information, it’s that with this information context matters. Usually in lower elo players will immediately all go mid and live there for the rest of the game after the first tower drops. Lanes are only pushed when a turret has been destroyed by minions, or is threatened to be destroyed.

Chasing also has a likelihood of being baited into the arms of the waiting enemy. It wastes precious time that could be used farming, taking a tower, or if your team responds taking a dragon/baron.

So yeah, I would argue that chasing a kill is usually worth less than an objective, tower, or cs. Side lanes are so neglected in lower elo, which is what makes it so easy to climb out of. Play a top, jungle, or ADC that takes towers easily and can duel or escape.

The thing with ganking the weakside in lower elos is that more often than not they are just not good players and even if you help them get "back in the game" they will just die 1v1 again

Your coaching Sessions with Xot made me feel validated as a splitpushing ADC with Sivir. I applied some of the fundaments you showed with a good result.

Great video. As a coach, I've made a lot of these arguments over the years, so it's nice to hear a large coaching org release something agreeing with some of my more controversial takes.

One MINOR thing is that in your chapters, you used a semicolon instead of a colon for a timestamp, so the "Dopa's Worst Quote" chapter doesn't work.

One of the things I noticed Neace would share to his students in coaching sessions is "when you see heads collide on the minimap - look". That helps me a lot more than just spamming F keys

I dont think what he said goes against Dopa's quote at all. The examples he gave are playing their specific champions well, if the aggressive guy was playing sona i doubt he would play hyper aggro and start diving people. Its a good player playing the role they enjoy playing well. just because they pick aggressive style champions 99% of the time, it doesnt mean they wouldnt play as well as a more defensive champ.

There is some needed context with the DopA quote. In the past, Westerners used to say that Koreand were more aggressive. This was around the time where we would see 15 minute first bloods on LCS and LEC.

Koreans responded by essentially saying that they aren't aggressive players, they just take opportunities presented to them.

If you want to actually see aggression nowadays, just look at the Chinese server and the playstyle of even some LPL teams. They will very regularly just hands check people and take the most random fights. Now that's aggression, not what Koreans did.

Otp Gwen top platinum here, i have won 80% of my wins just by out csing. This works on Gwen because she is arguably the fastest splitpusher in the game with her E Q. But this csing thing will not work while playing tanks. It would be counter productive imo.

thanks, you have shown me something very important to me: i am a scaling type player... Smolder, lissandra, Vex and Nilah. All of them i tend to play slow and that's how i want to play. Not a lot of roaming, because when i do it often ends poorly. But scaling is my prefered playstyle and it works well. I noticed this because of your video and i think i will focus on that part of my gameplay.

7:02 I took a step away from adc cause I was getting bored, and I don't plan to spend money on coaching, but regardless this sounds crazy useful. Split pushing is the one aspect of adc I could never really understand, the enemy team just sends the one tank bruiser you can't handle or they send 2-3 people and you die. No matter what I did, even though I got pretty far ahead early game, split pushing always felt like a death sentence. Which meant I wasn't really ever carrying my team to wins

Also for the last quick tip and not less important: Also dont Randomly die 4 to 0 trying to defend this Tier 1 mid tower... So many close games that accalerated into the enemie hands because my team got whiped trying to defend the 200hp turret being half hp themselves... (high emerald btw)

"Thats right I'm a terrible person" I respect you for your honesty.

I play Voli, Darius, Olaf and Camille top/jungle and my playstyle is aggressive early and snowball my lead into the mid to late game

Chovy said ''as long as you don't miss cs in front of you and make good decisions, you are playing well''. What he means by that is if you made a good fight for objective and make some kills you can lose one, two or even three minion waves under tower, because it doesn't matter that much. It's better to be in fight than desperately trying to push sidewave
