"I'm not planning on making a habit of looking at weird players", oh please feel free to,  they're fascinating 😄

It's a weird and quirky machine, and thus still interesting!

Please do not underestimate the joy viewers get from watching you scrub and novus polish the micro-scratches from clear pkastic housing with soapy water and novus 2.

Loving the dry humour in this one

That eject mechanism has recoil!

I quite liked the fact that you featured a strange machine like this, I wouldn't mind more in the future. So sorry to hear that your other projects aren't going to plan! I'm sending positive vibes your way, I hope those tricky players that ruin your plans make for some great repair stories! Oh and happy Easter!

The "Non-Dampened" door is by design for quick swapping of the discs whilst the DJ jabbers on. Good work, well done 🙂

'professional' indeed!

The headphone out is on the mixer that connects both players. When DJ-ing you have to be able to listen to both decks separately at times and both at once at other times. Separate headphone outputs would be very unpractical.

And I really like you dipping into non-standard players. Bottom of the barrel-type players like these has made it possible for lots of aspiring DJs to get their feet wet. I started out with a used Pioneer deck. It skipped tracks from time to time and I wished I'd known how to repair it back then.

15:33 DJs usually use the headphone jack on their mixer, not on their decks. And I would enjoy seeing repairs of more weird and unusual CD players, as well as the regular ones.

"Don't worry I'm not planning to make a habit of featuring weird players like this"... Man we wish we got something weird and quirky all the time!!! Spice things up a bit. Cheers

You had me at “emergency backup video”.  :)

It was… refreshing… to see a different CD configuration that the box-standard  component CD decks you usually feature.  I’d love to see you do cassette decks or even reel to reel players,  but you do you.  As always, good work!

Don't hate so much ,it's not a Pioneer but this was pretty cool back in the 2000s and it is still working !

This is finally the video where I, as a non-techie, electronics ignoramus knew something that Graham didn't. I still burn my own CD-Rs for use in my 35 year old stand-alone player. My consumer level [Nero] software allows the creation of custom gap lengths, counted in seconds and fractions thereof, or in total number of frames; also index points (that my player recognises and can navigate to) at frame level accuracy, which is very useful for someone as obsessively correct as me.

Also that display with
"Track M S F Pitch"

This is of course what the IDF does: Track MSF then Pitch a couple of projectiles onto them.

You gotta love the "G" window.

I am amused by the fact that today I bought a JVC CD player (JVC XL-V284) at the second hand market and as soon as I went home I saw that one of your videos had come out, however the PCB attached to the laser was completely destroyed, but luckily for me the used laser is still produced, your videos have taught me a lot about CD players, thank you, greetings from Rome

Hi Graham from  Brisbane Australia. Just wanted to say that I would be more than happy to watch videos of any cd player you work on, including the quirky ones. The variety of cd player applications and your presentation prowess is very engaging. I hope you keep putting all manner of cd players and other devices into your videos. I look forward to every episode. Cheers Blake

Yay, a spare time repair video👍😅

When I first started DJing, I started out with a pair of Stanton CDJs that were terrible. They skipped all the time, and you couldn't even make any sudden movements around them. The Gemini CDJ-20s completely solved that problem and were amazing—plus, they were way cheaper than the Pioneer ones
