During WW2 in Yugoslavia, on 21. October 1941, Germans took thousands of citizens of Kragujevac and Kraljevo and shoot them as a revange for partisan's actions in Yugoslavia. There were also students from gimnasium in Kragujevac with their profesor Miloje Pavlovic. Seconds before the shooting, Germans offered him to save his own life and he just proclaimed "JUST SHOOT. I AM STILL TEACHING IN MY CLASS".
Very interesting and informative. Thank you for all of your videos! I visited Warsaw last year and went to POLIN. Wish I watched your video beforehand coz i was staying in Holiday Inn, on the same street where warsaw ghetto wall remnant is located. Wish i knew and could've gone there. We were sooo close. Zabinski villa is also a good place to visit in the Warsaw Zoo. Watching your video is like walking on warsaw streets again... Thank you so much.
Also some known polish resistance /underground fighters of the AK prior to the ghettos liquidation in 1943 risked their lifes in smuggling food rations and lefty paperwork to the poorest families inside the ghetto via the northern rail entrance. Some of these men died later as a result of combat against high ranking nazis later or died in uneven combat against the so called collaborative blue police. After the ghetto was liquidated, Himmler established a small concentration camp on its ruins, at the place were the museum is located, was the actual entrance to it. The post war socialist/communist government kept polish resistance fighters shamefully in its complex along with german pow's after 1945. Later the camp was intentionaly demolished as to hide any evidence of its existance. The germans had an electric crematory there were they managed to cremate many victims of their executions. The crematory was located at the corner of nowaday Lewartowskiego and Karmelicka streets, were an informatics school is located, no historic or memorial tablets are place there simply due to the fact that it was skillfuly hidden and demolished after the war, many people perished there.
Pretty grim and what makes this worse is that all this happened in what can be described in modern times and in Europe the so-called civilised first world. Reading and watching videos about the Holocaust and WW2 as a whole, is like it was some kind of Sci-fi horror movie when aliens invade the Earth and decide to declare a brutal war on humans. What makes this all the more horrific for me and some may call me racist, is that I see Europeans killing other Europeans, white people that makes me think of my own family being placed in that situation that makes this all the more emotional to me.
