Armed with a Pom Pom hat, puncture repair kit and a flask of tea, what could possibly go wrong?! A fabulous piece of archive film.

My Dad had a mid 1950's Humber Hawk, when we lived in Northern Rhodesia.

I wish I could travel back in time and experience those bygone days.

Shame those days are over. Good little film, Stirling Moss was a real Hero. Very famous race driver. 🏆💯🏆💯👑👑👑😇
I’m very happy to watch historical things like this , Britain was at the Top, once upon a time. Thanks for posting. 👏😜🤙😇

Wonderful.Raymond Baxter the narrator of my youth on so many occasions.

Lovely piece of archive film. Britain's once-magnificent motor industry. I have owned British-built cars for 65 years. All splendid!

Great way to start off my Sunday morning. Hitchcock used as Sunbeam-Talbot Alpine Sport driven by Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief.

9:00 ... this stage of the Quality Process was reserved for employees having been late more than once in a year, being caught with a crumpled shirt or ladder accordingly 😊  Great piece. Thankyou from Munich.

Fantastic video. Thanks to the Rootes Archive for going to the expense and the trouble. Wouldn't like to be that guy in the car when they were testing the rear suspension on the assembly line. Interesting to see the cars leaving the assembly line are all LHD. I guess that's where most ended up. Why were the ladies running to their car - slept in? late to park ferme? Seems no 510 (Stirling's car?) is having some overheating issues or the bonnet has popped up on the safety catch at 14:30 Nothing like traffic coming towards you when you are plunging downhill in a rally - especially a horse drawn cart. I mean, they can quickly and easily get out of the way! :-) Vital you have a smoke with your meal!

Excellent stuff. Great coverage. The Rally must have been a real challenge as it was, but with filming on top - awesome. Mart.

The Rootes Archive is really exploding in my Youtube now. Wonderful, more, please!

I've watched quite a few of these Rootes films now and women drivers figure prominently in them all. Where are the women competitors now?

great not seen much roots stuff before ...loads of BMC/MG/ Rover but good to see this as well -subscribed!

Raymond Baxter commentary? Jolly good film, shame Rootes went under, they made some marvelous motor cars.

Those alpine mountain roads aargh 😫 ! I'd have had a go in a rubber-sprung Mini - but in a 1950s rear wheel drive, with a column gear shift😢 Respect

Großartiger Film Dankeschön

cool cars....

Wonderful..

Not one Hi Vis in sight how did they manage ?

3:20 I hope this Sterling Moss Alpine is in an auto museum or in private hands somewhere. Be a shame if it has been long since gas-axed.
