BANJARMASINPOST.CO.ID, BANJARBARU - A mixture of sadness and joy radiated from the face of Mia Melinda, a survivor of the KM Virgo Transport 8, which recently crashed in the Java Sea.

This woman from Kendal, Central Java, was one of hundreds of victims who managed to survive at sea and was eventually evacuated to land safely, despite her injuries.

Melinda was a member of the music crew on the KM Virgo Transport 8, which was sailing from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin.

Before the accident occurred early Sunday morning (September 13, 2026), she admitted to having a bad feeling while on board.

That night, Melinda admitted to having to take time off from performing or singing on the ship because she suddenly felt unwell. She also admitted to having only worked on the KM Virgo Transport 8 as a music crew member for a week.
