Hello! Inga´s book is still one of my favorites. I love her color choices and the compositions, and it truly is a way to paint calm. Whenever I dont know what to paint or I feel overwhelmed/anxious about painting, I grab this book, open to a random page and start doing the exercises...I also love Sara Simons fisrt pages of that workbook, I found it so interesting to study the color mixes she proposes. Everyone mixes colors in a diferent way and it made me think about that and how I wanted to mix my own colors!I´ve beeing loving your channel! Your sketchbooks are bautiful!

Your dot card sketchbook is a brilliant idea and looks beautiful!
Thank you for sharing all of this!

I loved your thoughts on “painting calm” it was by far my best art book. I thought the same as you did about all the valuable parts she teaches. Your sketchbook is absolutely beautiful! New subscriber

I am also very precious about books. I went through several semesters of college before I allowed myself to right in a textbook. Then only in pencil and very lightly.

Thank you for sharing so many books and so much of them. When I look online the previews are done like regular books, they give the first few pages which for most watercolor books are very similar. I appreciate you going into the meat of the book so we can truly see if the author's teaching style meshes our learning style.
I small complaint, the audio is very low. I had to grab an external speaker and sit it next to my ear just to hear.

Thank you for showing us all of these wonderful books by so many CREATIVE artists. Some of these are on my list now as well.❤

Fabulous reviews. Unfortunately you have made me fall in love with several. Most notably the Blanche Tristant that is SO expensive but eating is overrated when there are art supplies to be had. The worst part is that I don’t even do botanicals. Animals are my preferred subjects. 😁. Thanks for sharing.

Creative!!!! This is one of the best videos I have watched. I am a retiring math teacher hunting for a way to spend my days. Watercolors, particularly loose watercolors, fascinate me. You have inspired me to try and, most importantly, give me a direction to pursue. I love this video. I have saved it to watch again. Thank you for your "research," and for sharing your knowledge and experience. Wonderful! Every beginner should watch this!

Loved everything about this video, thank you so much. The mix of books for beginners, and those that pulled you forward into concepts and design you were not yet ready to follow - your sketchbooks, all with such beautiful results. All of it together opened up the process in ways that I didn't realize I needed. Like an illustrated story, that was also beautifully narrated, of an artist's beginning. Thank you so, so much. I'll bookmark and return again I know. Excited to subscribe, and wishing you all the best. 🙏

I enjoyed this video very much, thank you so much. I watched it to the end in another browser but have signed in again so I can leave comments, which is not something I normally do on YouTube. I loved seeing those glimpses of your sketchbooks and would love to see more of them in future videos if possible. Thanks!

I love your journal where you did pages on colors, like a page of browns, a page of greens etc.

Thank you this video was super informative, the reviews were so helpful to help choose some books for me as a watercolour beginner. After watching it I went and got Painting Calm by Inga Buividavice and Learn to Watercolor by Sarah Van Der Linden. They seemed like the best ones to start with and closer to the style I wish to develop. Let's see how I do and maybe Ill keep going 🙂
