I prefer 3D 180° content to 2D 360° content. When I'm sitting in my easy chair, I don't want to have to crane my neck around to see what's behind me. I want to look at what's in front of me. 3D 180° gives you the sense of being there without making it necessary to turn all the way around.

I’m shocked you didn’t mention Google Earth in VR. I can spend hours in there just walking the streets.

I don’t understand why Meta still has not made or partnered with someone to make a native 3-D movie streaming app. They have been pushing mixed reality and selling the Quest 3 as not just a console headset, but then they push horizon worlds. The amount of missed opportunities by Meta is confusing.

I think still think that someone should make a Virtual video store, like the old Blockbusters, where you can walk around have a browse and pick a movie to watch.

One night I made the biggest mistake of launching Google Earth in VR. Took the headset off and 3 hrs had past 😂.

I always think about how it would be an incredible teaching tool. Seventh graders can listen to someone they don't care to pay attention to describe ancient Sumer with dated textbook illustrations of sand and rocks, or they can stand at the steps of a zigarrat in VR and hear the people in the streets. Game changing for education, game changing.
Edit: Heck, they could be in the splash zone of a human sacrifice in a Mayan city.

I played the Indiana jones game with virtual desktop and it’s my favorite way to play that game since it’s such a cinematic experience.

Best use for a VR headset is lying on the couch watching a movie as though you got the whole cinema to your self.

Meta should release a creator app. Dedicated to producing vr content. They could even have their own game engine like unreal and people would build vr content forever.

In the past we all waited desperately for VR. But we never realized how long we can handle having the heavy goggles on our head. For me it may be up to 2-3 hours until it bothers me. They need to make it smaller and less heavy for real comfort in your game or movie. Comfort is what it’s all about.

As someone who doesn't have space for a large TV anymore, but misses the experience, Quest 3 has been an amazing thing for bringing that experience back. I recently played TLoU Part 1 streamed from my PC while lying in bed for hours and it was soooooo awesome, best flat gaming experience I've had in months in terms of comfort and immersion.

Meta needs to add a store to buy 3d movies to make it easier to do I tried it in a app I can't remember but it was buggy and kept canceling out but the time I watch Ed it it was insane

I rarely play with the Quest, but video entertainment on the other hand, oh boy. I do enjoy a lot. I moslty watch Youtube VR than anything else.

And you didn't even mention the productivity apps like virtual desktop.  Thanks for the heads up on the 3D movies, will have to check them out.

Flat screen gaming in vr is so underrated sometimes I play steam games on my quest pro and it’s super fun I love the immersion even with flat.

Good on him for not mentioning vR porn

Thanks for the reminder on some of what we can do with our Quest 3. I've been watching more TV (Spatial TV) using the headset and it's a very nice experience. (I live alone so I'm not cutting myself off from anyone in the house with me.)

Last year I did try Oculus TV but honestly, haven't returned. So I need to do that as you are showing that they've added more content. I know back then (and again thanks to your video) they had (as did YouTube) some nice high res (4K?) videos that were amazing to view this way.

Quest 3 (to me) is just an amazing device. And of course the gaming is great.

"all the waty from supernintendo...to sega genesis."

idk if it was a reference but i got it lol

Another opportunity is 180 3D VR videos by Disney, such as of Star Wars dogfights, Avatar (Flight of Passage), TRex chasing you, Temple of Doom mine cart chase, etc.

I was hoping James Camron was going to use VR to promote Avatar. Either a 'on rails' experience through Pandora or an actual mini experience where you can explore areas od Pandora, from the military instalations, dense forest areas to ocean areas.
