Your blue Oxford started life on the Isle of Wight.

My dad had one of these in grey, when we were kids in the 70s. That was exactly the same then! Ran beautifully and extremely comfortable, but a rust bucket.

Brings back fond memories of my grandads Riley as a youngster sitting in the back while he drove into Chepstow helping in his shop.

I had a nice 4/72 after I passed my test in 83. It was a auto.  Rain like clockwork..it had a bench seat.  All leather. Light biege and pinkish. I put white wall flaps on. Great smooth drive.  👍👍✌️🇬🇧

thirty years ago I would have taken this floor renovation on as the rest of the car looks great ! I had my own industrial unit with welder, folders and spray shop. I have done a long list of classic refurbs. But now retired :o)

I think it's cool you've given the red one the title of MR.RILEY. Very appropriate for a grand car!

Had a 16/60 for 5 years in the 80s . Lovely smooth car  ..why do we wish we kept all our cars

I owned a/72 back in the 70s, it was 10 years old when I brought it, it was a great car back in the day. I had it repainted in British Racing Green, and it was used as a wedding car sometimes. I lent it to a mate who thought that it had synchromesh on first gear, I pulled the box out and replaced that whole gear set from an earlier BMC box, I was no mechanic but using my Haynes manual i got the job done. Riley carbs were mixture tuned via an anvil set up  rather than at the bottom of the S.U carbs

Gotta love those starting handle cars, never have to fear a flat battery, no hanging around for a tow or a jumper cable buddy.

I hope somebody rebuilds it .

Looks a little better than the 4/68 I once had but not much, it became a donor to my 4/72

My A55II is the same year as the Riley. I'm in the same position regarding the floors. It has taken a long time finding a body shop to do the welding but its finally in a queue to go in and get done.

That Riley looks and sounds like Christine, Man !!

I had a '64 Austin Freeway. Almost identical, except, it had a Blue Streak 6 power plant and three speed column shift. These were an Australian version. The radiator was moved to the front of the radiator mount to fit the Australian modified BMC 1500cc 4, that had two extra cylinders added to it. 2200cc roughly. Those are a heavy car and way way under powered. The 6 made much more sense.

Sold my Oxford VI years ago and still miss it....Got a pre-Farina one now but I would still like another!    I used to take my carpets out in the Winter, they just harbour damp and rot the floors out (even after new screen rubbers).   Bilt-Hamber is better than Waxoyl - it creeps better and they have two formulations for panels and for box sections.   Lovely cars.

Please be safe and put axel stands under the car as well as the jack . Great car love these old cars my dad had a cortina mk 1 👍
