The updated XPENG G6 has arrived in the UK with major improvements to charging, interior quality and overall refinement but, is it finally ready to take on the Tesla Model Y?

In this review, I take a detailed look at what’s changed, how it drives on UK roads, and whether this fast-charging electric SUV is one of the smartest buys in its class. From real-world efficiency to practicality, performance and ownership considerations, this is everything you need to know before buying. If you’re considering switching to electric or looking for a strong alternative in this segment, the G6 might just surprise you.

I bought one in January, and have already driven it from Marbella, where I live to Yorkshire and back. Using Ionity charging stations, which can be programmed in to the Sat Nav. The car is relaxing, brilliant and costs about half the fuel costs compared to a diesel.

Great video. One of my neighbours has just taken delivery of one in white and I have to say the model in your video looks much nicer. You nailed it when you did your comparison at the end too. Although its not a market leader, its an entry to them becoming serious competition. Legacy brands should be taking note.

The AI software interaction is a bonus for drivers, I do hope UK gets the new G7,P7,P7+ with their new Turing chip for overseas market.

No mention of the fantastic XCombos available with the car (akin to Excel macros where you can get the car to run multiple functions/options with just one option press or voice command ... Design your own or download to the car ones created by other owners or Xpeng themselves)

I’m getting one on salary sacrifice scheme. Looking forward to it. Cracking car in this segment.

As good as SUV's may be, I would always choose a station wagon or sedan. And therefore I think that the Xpeng P7+ is also very interesting 😊
Thanks for the review 🙏

In Denmark it’s only 34.000£ for standard range and we get 7 years or 160.000 km guarantee (8 years 180.000 km on the battery)

I ordered my G6 here in Germany last month. On the range of 25 km I have 3 different X Peng dealers. By the way, the warranty is 2 years, if you do the every year service at X Peng it will be extended to 7 years.

Ordered the long range...panoramic roof, streaming rear view mirror, standard features...

Warranty is 7 years 160.000km in Denmark, 5 years of which are mobility Warranty. Might vary from market to market? Comes woth relatively high service cost though. The G6 is around 10-15k cheaper than any rival. As you can easily compare the SR with rivals LR versions, due to the 67kW net LFP battery and 5C charging.

I use this car in Thailand. It‘s a really good car. Thank you for your video❤

Love the Review. As for the car, very interesting car. May leave the G6 for early adopters then buy one in a couple of years, that would be a great used buy.

It's HAS got heated seats in the back, you show them at 7:24. There's no physical buttons in the back but you can voice control them and apparently the car will know which seat the command cones from 💁🏻‍♂️
